I am very upset with my reservation at pavilion 1 from Saturday Aug 9th 2025.
There was other peoples trash left behind that I had to dispose of, the woman’s bathroom had human feces on the walls and floors and no toilet paper, I had to clean around and under the pavilion because their was so much trash laying around. Very thick white cobwebs on all corners of the pavilion, as well as mud wasp nests on the underside of the roof on the pavilion. I fully am aware that it is an outdoor space that you can rent, so I understand that their will be things from wild life and dirt, but I called 3 days in advance to make sure they were going to clean it up and they told me they would and didn’t. I’ve lived in Saxton my whole life and this park is absolutely disgusting anymore.
I called and complained just to be told “we will let them know”
I’m very VERY upset and spent almost $90 on this pavilion for my baby shower to have to do their jobs and have my guests see the shit...

Read moreNice scenery with a lot of trails for day hiking.
Two picnic areas with outhouse style bathrooms that are very insect active.
There's a lot of fruit bearing bushes that locals were harvesting, looks like raspberries or blackberries.
Two boat launches to enter the river that surrounds the park.
Being a somewhat no frills state park, this is actually a rather nice location with far fewer people than most other parks, and the trails are well distributed around with many choices to navigate unlike most that are just single loops.
Quiet and unused enough that wasps and birds are nesting and feeding babies in the pavilion nearest to the entrance.
Good place to stop and picnic when you want to stay away from people, as long as you don't have needs for more...
