We took a nice walk from the parking lot to the end of the spit on the Pacific Ocean side going south where we encountered a group of 25 sea lions-beauutiful day for Febuary. On our hike back, we decided to avoid the wind that had kicked up on the Ocean side and hiked back on the Nestucca bay side. We ventured into the dunes and eventually came upon horse trails in the wooded area. BE AWARE that the horse trails are poorly marked and difficult to navigate(marshland and densely wooded area, and unmarked forks in the trail) making it nearly impossible to cut across to either the coastal sand OR the bayside walk. Overall, a great adventure, but lacked good foot trails through the wood areas. I would recommend staying on the sand and keep your...

One of the interesting State Parks on the Oregon Coast located on the Nestucca Sand Split.

You will find a nice long beach to walk on with great views of Haystack Rock and Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City.

The Park offers a number of hiking trails that take you along the Nestucca River and the sand dunes.

A popular place to ride your horse, launch your boat, go fishing, and have a picnic.

Located in Pacific City with signage to the Park at the flashing four-way stop.

The parking lot fills fast in the afternoon, and a county lot is also available with a ten dollar fee.

A nice place to walk on the beach with great views, a number of activities to keep you busy, and...

Beautiful spot along the Oregon coast. Arriving early is necessary on weekends if you want a parking spot, but taking a walk south along the spit will get you away from the crowds pretty quickly. The rolling hill of grass is a nice place to explore as well. My only complaint is that this is a popular place for horse people to take beach rides, which means there's a fair amount of horse poop along the beach. I feel like, if I'm expected to pick up my dog's poop, why can't horse people pick up horse poop? Give them special diapers or something, I don't know. Keep it off the...

It was windy and wet while we were there. But not that cold. The waves were magnificent and the clouds ever shifting. We took our shoes off and luxuriated in the light sand. There wasn’t a lot of flotsam and jetsam from the storm. Barely a thing to pick up and wonder over. But that was OK because we were on to more adventures that day. I got to take my best friend from high school here, it was the first time that she got to see the ocean in person. She was giddy with delight and I don’t blame her.
