We had two families, with 5 children ranging from 3years old to 12 years old. Beautiful place with a lot of fun activities to do. If you aren't staying lake front it's hard to find locations to fish as you dont want to impose on anyone's "area". Also, came Labor Day weekend, I'd imagine one of their busiest weekends and ALL credit card systems went down including ATM's. Not their fault, it happens. However, they have zero back up process in place. We were unable to rent a boat as they have NO backup to their cc system being down. You can't give a license or even credit for them to hold and process when it came back on. Therefore unable to get a boat rental the whole day. The waterpark on site was the same situation and no one was helpful in providing any resolution to either situations. I would imagine that a lot of business was lost. Very dissatisfied with them not being prepared for a situation like this that can have a very simple solution to fix. So my advice to you all; make sure you have enough cash for the more expensive activities you might like to do. Other than that, I can say we enjoyed our stay and would definitely...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Raystown. The location and setting is beautiful. We stayed in one of the lakeside bungalows. It was musty - comes with the territory I suppose. I recommend bringing your own cooking gear. The pots and pans were thrift store quality, as was most of the gear in the kitchen. I believe you are required to bring your own bed linens. If not, I recommend you do. The unit we stayed in had a large gap between the door and floorboard which made the a/c run constantly making it difficult to maintain a constant temperature. The porch faced the water, but there was nothing to sit on so bring a couple chairs. We pulled one of the loveseats onto the porch which worked well. We will likely visit again. Our first experience was good. It's not a 5-star resort so keep that in mind. Next time we'll know what to bring. The dinner cruise was nice. Definitely recommend doing that at least once. Boat rental was lots of fun and the staff were great. It's a great place for kids. There is a beach that has a sand bottom and goes out pretty far. At the furthest edge, it's about...
