We visited on a late Wednesday afternoon in June 2025. We got there around 4:30 and knew that last entry into the park was 5PM. We bought our tickets online for a discount and you can buy just up until the late minute I feel like. It's not a huge savings but you're paying a bunch already to visit here. You are allowed to stay in the park later but you have to get into the park first.

We topped off our water bottles, went to the bathroom in the visitor center and headed outside to get onto the trail head which was left of the visitor center when you're facing it.

Avalanche Falls itself is at the very end of the Gorge. You'll walk all the way up to it and that's how you know you're near the end. You start by walking down below to the side of it and then the trail looks around and you can then see down from above it. It's a pretty nice falls.

We took a bunch of pictures and because we were there later in the day after the visitor center closed, we got to take pictures without a bunch of people in the background. We saw maybe 2 other group the entire time on our hike. There is a large shelter area above the falls as well that has seating. We stopped here a few mins before heading back.

The falls is not the highlight of the trail but i think it's walking through the flume gorge that's really unique. But that being said, I'd come back and hike it again. The price is a bit steep but I like to think that also buys you a better experience and not being jammed in there like a pack of sardines. Overall for what we paid for the 5 of us, I think it was worth it. I wish they had a discount for larger families with kids. We paid $86 for the 5 of us. $18/adult and $16/child (12&under).

There were a couple of really cool places near by that we wanted to see but we had a tight schedule. Like the caves further south and the artist bluff further north. Sadly we were just passing through and didn't have a...

Absolutely beautiful place and a great place for a hike. Avalanche Falls sits right off the highway, complete with a massive parking lot, nice big gift shop with bathrooms and plenty to see. You could fast walk it in about 20 minutes but could easily take your time and be there for 2 or 3 hours if you really want to enjoy the views.

As you can see from the photos there's a good chunk of the hike over bridges in a kind of canyon. It's very cool and refreshing to be out of the sun in there for part of the walk. Totally breathtaking. The hike circles back around to the shop and parking lot so you won't get lost. Just read the skins and...

With the recent rain 🌧️, the Falls are magnificent to look at. It is not Niagara Falls, but it adds to Flume Gorge and helped make my visit more memorable. You can view the Falls from the 🔝 top. I was surprised by how much green grows around the Falls...
