This is one of my favorite places to explore in Lincoln! The hyde observatory also offers cool experiences to the public on Saturday nights (i dont know how covid has effected these events but i went to one when i was in a college astronomy class for extra credit). From this part of holmes lake, there is access to a dock and many cool walking trails. It is a lovely area of wilderness and if you're lucky you might see some cool wildlife! It is usually not too busy during mornings and nights as well, which allows for peaceful experiences outside. This is also a great location to watch the fireworks during the fourth of July! 10/10 recommend exploring this area...

Me and my wife stopped by after a nice night out, and it was the perfect nightcap, the staff is super knowledgeable and interested in just about any topic you bring up. The telescopes are fantastic, even with the slight cloud coverage we got to see Jupiter, absolutely beautiful. We sat in the back “classroom” area and the video they had playing was amazing as well. Even though I’m the space nerd, my wife even told me she enjoyed it, we will be coming back. On top of it, this being a free experience is INSANE, thank you Hyde for giving us a fantastic...

This is a really cool place that I would highly recommend checking out. They have the telescopes out on nice nights where you can look through and the volunteers were incredibly helpful to talk to. They had a little seminar while we were there on Saturn which was interesting and all in all a hidden gem of Lincoln. Be sure to check out the hours they are open before you go and they said the telescopes are weather dependent, but they still do interesting talks and such. Well...

Has great little programs on Saturday nights. Real low key, not many people attended when I went but I had a great time. Powerful telescopes that trained professionals run. Very interesting to see the planets and all the outer space stuff. Pictures from the 2024 eclipse, handed out the glasses and lots of people in attendance!

Went there on a Saturday evening. Unfortunately a bit cloudy and all close by planets were not visible. But ok, that's what we call nature. The volunteer staff are all super kind and motivated. Explaining everything, answering many questions. Also kids are welcome here.
