This is a great place close to Downtown Lincoln to get into nature, take a walk, and do some birdwatching as well. Nearly every time I go in the evening hours, I see several deer throughout the wetlands, and sometimes foxes and other small animals. The path through the wetlands is partially gravel and part grass, so it can get muddy after it rains at times. There is a bridge on the west side of the wetlands near Capitol Beach, and you get a very nice view of the sunset over the homes in the neighborhood in the evening.
