Overall, the Pinewood Bowl Theatre is a great venue. Great sound, beautiful outdoor area. Overall the staff is mostly friendly & kind. There are always a few that want to feel they are the alphas and be bossy/mean because they are wearing a shirt, but to be expected I guess. Some have their own conversations and don't even acknowledge you when you're staring at them because you are not sure where to go or what to do. But overall it was alright. The drink station workers were really friendly and upbeat, however the prices are incredibly unreasonable for drinks. I have never ever seen mark up this high at a venue, so I highly suggest pre-gaming before you go and bring an empty disposable water bottle or cough up the $5 for a bottle of water. For reference, one can of high noon was $12.50!!! A 4 pack of high noon is barely $10 at the grocery store. One of the pre-made mixed drinks they were selling the night I was here was $28 and it was in a small cup with a light up ice cube (is the ice cube why it was so expensive?!) my god.... Parking was free & very well organized. Leaving wasn't as bad as I was anticipating - perhaps many people left before the show was over, but even still we were able to get out & on the road in about 5min or less. Folks mention bugs here a lot - especially in the grass parking, I had no issues at all and did not wear any bug repellent. Do take the list seriously about what you can and can't bring. They do measure your bags ladies & you cannot go in if it's bigger than the stated size on the website - unless it is clear. The clear bags you can bring whatever size it seemed like - swear I saw a lady with a clear duffle bag. Strange. One other thing to mention, be mindful of your seat selection and where the sun will be, the stage faces roughly north. I thought this through during presale and arrived to perfectly shaded seats on a hot and muggy evening. I don't understand the what the big deal is about the lounge area where they have reclining chairs. Those folks paid big bucks and are baking in the sun until it's all the way down...always thought that was strange, but to each their own! I do recommend seeing a concert here at least once if you haven't before! Keep in mind to follow the rules of the bag size and also pre-game wisely, save...
Read moreDon’t waste your money on the “Premium/VIP” tickets. The show was amazing, but there is nothing premium about this section except for the chairs and close parking. It’s located on a hill directly in the sun. The only shade is under some trees where Event Staff were telling everybody to move. Our friend had a heat stroke because we had no shade and water should have been provided if we were stuck there in the blazing sun for hours, or they should have had a tent set up for us and not just the bartenders around us. The opposite side of the theater (Bison D I believe) is where the VIP section SHOULD have been located. It was completely shaded but we were not permitted to go over to that side of the amphitheater, which I believe, if we paid as much as we did, we should have had access to other sections like the pit, which was also completely shaded. There were parents taking their children to sit under the trees where there was shade, but the staff would immediately jump on them and tell them to move. After a while, you just have to ignore them and then you’d catch that same staff going under the trees for the shade, but God forbid the guests who spent their money to be there try to get into the shade for a minute. Event Staff are rude old men who don’t care about the guests. The Elovators, Tribal Seeds, SOJA and Dirty Heads put on one hell of a show though! Too bad the venue dropped the ball...
Read more"get there early" is no joke, it's gold. We got there at 5 for an 8pm show. Front row parking. Brought chairs and enjoyed the shade. Definitely bring dinner with and be ready for your show without any of the hassle I read about in reviews. The flies were biting tonight, so bring your fave bug spray. I'd suggest a few things to make things easier....post signs near the walkways with the bag and bottle policy (yes, I understand each event is different....adjust) and include the example of the size that is acceptable, to allow people to figure it themselves. So, so many ladies did not read the rules online...this would help keep lots of people from having to back to their cars. And educate your staff...I heard way too many versions of "the truth" before actually getting to the gate. One exit out for our event...on foot. I understand the want for safety but it came across a little bottle-necky. Porta-potties...not enough. Period. There was a VIP section at our event. Again, a simple "VIP only" sign would saves tons of heartache for those who thought that they found the magic port-a-loo with no line. The servers at the Crown Royal tent were fast and fab. Bring lawn chairs, hang out in the shade and have a great...
