Lincoln’s Ratings: 👃 3/5 | 💨 4/5 | 🐶 4/5 | 🐾 3/5 | 🦴 2/5 ✅ 16/25 — Flexible but Basic 🐾 DMV Dog Park Reviews: Nokesville Dog Park (Prince William County, VA) This park has a unique setup — one fenced area just for small dogs and two mixed sections for all sizes. That flexibility makes it easier for dogs to find the right playmates. Each section has a simple shelter for shade and a dog water fountain, but otherwise it’s pretty basic: grass, dirt, and open space. No agility gear, no fancy extras. 💬 Comment park pups if you’ve been here! Would you rather see more extras, or do you like a no-frills setup? #Dogtok #DMVLife #DMV #DogParkReview #DMVDogs

Update: As of 06/08/24, The water fountains near the public restrooms are working for human consumption but none of the dog park water fountains for the puppies/dogs is yet operational. //// (End) Water fountain use for the dog park area as well as for human consumption near the restrooms is inoperable and has not worked since the park opened. Don't know when or if they are scheduled to be put in operation but as of March 13th 2024 they are still inoperable. Park Open Dawn to Dusk. Don't use the Google search website about the hours of the park. It is not open 24 hours as shown, when you Google the location. The park is open dawn to dusk per the actual signs at the park itself.

Nice park for walking on trails that are totally paved. There are three separate fenced areas for dogs, two for small and large dogs, and one for small dogs only. Plenty of parking, a restroom, water, and several playgrounds. Soccer fields were closed off. Basketball courts available. Several shaded picnic areas for groups.

Opened Oct 2023. Lots of open space. Nice playground for kids with a whimsical farm theme to symbolize the area's agricultural past that has been replaced by housing developments.

Two nice, medium sized pavilions. Facilities. Paved walking paths.

Not sure how much traffic the park currently sees, but I suspect it's light compared to other regional parks.

In the warm evenings when the sun is setting, there are clouds of bugs on the walking trail along the drainage swamp. Just know before you go.

Unfortunately, it looks like the county dumped money to build/open this park, and didn't finish the job. Looks like most of the budget went into the playground. Already a lack of landscape maintenance. Trees have dead tops, or are dead. Typical construction, the top soil is removed for $ and what's left is not the best for growing anything but noxious weeds and eventually brush if not mowed. Doesn't appear to be any irrigation and it shows very much. I wouldn't give the grounds much hope for staying green very long.

Eventually PWC will spend lots more to rehab the original work. Unless there's plans to build more. Which seems crazy to do after it's open.

Nice park (doubtful they'll take care of it and keep it nice. sorry PWC, Fairfax...

I’ve walked here twice. Once with my dog and once without. It’s fairly new to the community. Great paved path around the perimeter with athletic fields on the inside. There is also a huge playground for kids and a basketball court.

There are bathrooms and storm shelters. I’m not sure about water fountains. There are even two fenced in dog areas. One for small dogs and one for larger dogs. Very nice.

You can tell the park isn’t completely finished. I believe there are areas they are going to use for future things. What those are I’m not sure. I view this park as a staple of the community. It’s very well done. I can’t wait to see it in the spring once the grass grows in more. The parking lot is huge by the way.

Thank you Prince William for a wonderful addition...
