Opened Oct 2023. Lots of open space. Nice playground for kids with a whimsical farm theme to symbolize the area's agricultural past that has been replaced by housing developments.
Two nice, medium sized pavilions. Facilities. Paved walking paths.
Not sure how much traffic the park currently sees, but I suspect it's light compared to other regional parks.
In the warm evenings when the sun is setting, there are clouds of bugs on the walking trail along the drainage swamp. Just know before you go.
Unfortunately, it looks like the county dumped money to build/open this park, and didn't finish the job. Looks like most of the budget went into the playground. Already a lack of landscape maintenance. Trees have dead tops, or are dead. Typical construction, the top soil is removed for $ and what's left is not the best for growing anything but noxious weeds and eventually brush if not mowed. Doesn't appear to be any irrigation and it shows very much. I wouldn't give the grounds much hope for staying green very long.
Eventually PWC will spend lots more to rehab the original work. Unless there's plans to build more. Which seems crazy to do after it's open.
Nice park (doubtful they'll take care of it and keep it nice. sorry PWC, Fairfax...
Read moreI’ve walked here twice. Once with my dog and once without. It’s fairly new to the community. Great paved path around the perimeter with athletic fields on the inside. There is also a huge playground for kids and a basketball court.
There are bathrooms and storm shelters. I’m not sure about water fountains. There are even two fenced in dog areas. One for small dogs and one for larger dogs. Very nice.
You can tell the park isn’t completely finished. I believe there are areas they are going to use for future things. What those are I’m not sure. I view this park as a staple of the community. It’s very well done. I can’t wait to see it in the spring once the grass grows in more. The parking lot is huge by the way.
Thank you Prince William for a wonderful addition...
