I want to specify that this review is not for the beach itself but more for the incompetent summer workers doing parking duty. This beach is a beautiful beach and one of my favorites and I would definitely recommend going but ever since covid they’ve become crazy with parking control and elitism towards having specified hours for “locals only” (the irony is that I live in the next town over in Portsmouth but that’s not local enough I guess?). I showed up at 4:01 pm to buy a season beach pass to only be told that I couldn’t buy my beach pass because they closed at 4 pm. The gentleman told us that it was now locals only or sticker holders and that we’d have to come back another day as they only do sticker sales in person (pretty dumb if you ask me). As someone who has worked as beach staff for another beach for over a decade this is absolutely ridiculous. Sounds like just a lazy excuse to not want to deal with the “paperwork” . Such a disappointment because I love this beach but due to the lack of care from their beach staff and elitism; I’ll take my business elsewhere. Don’t waste your time or money. Plus 200 dollars is a bit steep for just wanting to use the ocean for...
Read moreI've been coming to this amazing beach since I was in the womb. This is a GEM of a beach. Although more and more of people are finding out it's location, it's ok I guess because this gorgeous beach is HUGE. It consists of actually two separate beaches; South Shore (which Google Maps shows) and Goosewing. When you get to the beach(es)(of which I'm not saying WHERE they're located and the directions on G. Maps are TERRIBLE. LOL, sorry...I just don't want an influx of people), it's called South Shore. When you walk down the beach towards the brackish river and go across the warm, tiny stream & the last lifeguard chair, THAT my friends is Goosewing. At Goosewing, it's considered private, so you're allowed to do pretty much anything, such as open bonfires and open alcohol bottles. South Shore & Goosewing have ZERO seaweed, huge waves and soft, rock-free sand. It's $16 roughly for admission with a car. (It's a little more money on weekends & holidays). Yes, it is expensive but worth every cent. PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T LITTER AT THESE BEACHES OR IT'LL SOON LOOK LIKE...
Read moreToo little of parking to the point where the employees keep allowing people to come in knowing there is no where to park. There is no space for anyone to sit on the beach itself since it’s only about 6 feet from sitting to the water. The only space was half a mile down the shore line onto rocks. We were only there for less than 10 minutes to find a place to park so we go back to get our money back since it was too crowded and there was no space and right aaay they give attitude and say no to the refund. To pay to park was only allowable cash which makes sense if you’re going to scam and rip people off. No where on the sign does it say no to refunds if it’s too busy and there is no room. Poor practices, this beach is a scam and we will never go back and tell everyone not to go there as well. Ruined our...
