I came here with my two kids- to the west lake park of Lewisville lake- just to enjoy the day and hopefully distance ourselves from humanity. The kids had fun but the water was really disgusting. I was not comfortable letting them play in the water. I, myself, was not even comfortable walk through it. We found this snake trapped in a plastic net which was so so sad. I tried to set it free but it was already dead- just floating in the water. I did see a lot of jet skis and boats in the water so I am assuming that it is a lake more for motorized fun. I would absolutely not go swimming in this water. The bathrooms also had a lot of wasps around the door so I wouldn’t even go inside of them...to be fair, however, there was no attendant on duty and I believe that because of covid - 19 the grounds weren’t being as maintained as they...
Read moreThis park has had more hard times than any other. The property is owned by The Corps of Engineers, it was flooded a couple uears ago and they just haven't got it together to have the park open regularly. This uear however, they do not have gate attendants, you can just drive on in for free! This is very nice as normally its $5.per person.... the downside is there is no daily cleaning, no traah cans at the individual tables, but there are dumpsters available. The bathrooms aren't very clean and you can tell no one is coming around regularly to do any clean up, which is fine, the public should put their trash away, and leave the grounds better than you found them, ideally.....LOL. it was difficult to post this, one side of me would prefer to let the public think the park is closed but hey, if you decide to visit, clean up...
Read moreVisited Westlake Park this evening with my bubbly wife. Enjoyed a little stroll. The park itself typically requires a $5 entry fee. However, during our visit on a Tuesday 14 Nov '23 around 4 pm, entrance was graciously free. We lingered until dark, surrounded by the graceful presence of numerous deer, reveling in the joy of spotting them. A gentle reminder: exercise caution while driving, as these majestic creatures gracefully roam the park's pathways.

Its tranquility, especially during the twilight hours, creates an atmosphere conducive to meaningful connections. So, what are you waiting for? Pack your car or big texan truck, answer the beckoning call of adventure, and pay a visit to this...
