Normally I don't say anything about state parks but in this situation I feel I have to. No use complaining to the DNR about it. We arrive there on Wednesday only to find the office is closed. Only open Friday and Saturday and Sunday in the evenings. We booked online so was no big deal but then we could not get any firewood unless we downloaded the yodel app. Finally able to get 2 bundles and it was not worth the price. Big chunks of firewood which we could not split into smaller pieces and for the cost of $8 per bundle I am better off stopping at Menards instead. We reserved site 3e and that was an absolute nightmare trying to back into that site when there are trees right at the end of the drive and on the road right next to the site. Took almost 20 minutes to get backed in and almost hit the trees twice because of the tight fit. Once we got backed in we could not believe how horrid the mosquitoes were there. And the mosquitoes were relentless. Spray would not work and we even had yard guard to spray the perimeter and that did no good. Then there was a tree crew running their saws all afternoon which I can tolerate but trying to get in and out of the park with debris all over the road from the trees was a joke. But the worst was Thursday morning. As soon as the dog and I stepped out of the camper we were bombarded by mosquitoes. The poor dog could not even do her business because the mosquitoes were so thick on her and being a short haired dog she was absolutely miserable. There were other people on Thursday morning that had it with the mosquitoes also and they, like us, were packing up to leave. Its sad that I lost the money because we were not there for 2 days but my idea of camping is not to be constantly trapped in the camper the entire time we are there. To me this park is a joke and how it gets a 4.5 review is beyond me. I had high hopes for this place but I know I will never return...

This is a small State Park hidden away in Little Falls, MN. This site was the home of Charles Lindbergh; the aviator, when he was a child. There is a historical museum off-site, across the street that you can tour for a small fee ($10 and under) The campground sites are spacious for either a tent or a pull-behind rig. Each one has a picnic table and fire-ring. There is a beautiful creek running through the park and it's also right next to the Mississippi River. The park has numerous easy hiking trails that are well maintained. This park also has great area for large group gatherings with plenty of parking for that purpose. The only negatives were the mosquitoes were fierce the weekend we were there and the trains that ran through the town of Little Falls in the night. In all fairness though, after talking to the Park Ranger he said that they hadn't had mosquitoes up until about 10 days ago and I found the trains to be nostalgic but my camping companion thought they were annoying. So it just depends on your point of view. In a side note; in the town of Little Falls you can find the hydro-dam on the Mississippi River. It's one of 11 on the river. There is a free pamplet book in the Ranger station of historical...

All I did was take a shower and have about 10 huge mosquito welts on each arm. They need a sign at the front of the park that states there are SWARMS of mosquitoes that are unmanaged. It’s absolutely horrific to even step outside the car. I’m from South Mississippi and we don’t even have mosquitoes this bad which leads me to question why the mosquitoes are able to thrive so well here and no one does anything. They seriously need to do something. I’m allergic to too many mosquitoes so a sign at the front should have been there. You can’t even walk around the park the infestation is so bad.Bug repellent only does so much. Anyone saying this park is a hidden gem is insane and I’m pissed to paid for two nights here. This amount of mosquitoes is also not to be expected. I hike and travel everywhere and when I say they are BAD, it’s not normal. A serious infestation. I had to throw all my my stuff in my car as quickly as possible before it rained and now my car is a wreck because I couldn’t even take my tent down it was...

Charles A. Lindbergh State Park is located in Little Falls, MN. The park was created when the Lindbergh family donated its 110-acre farm to the state of Minnesota in 1931 to honor the famous pilots father We hiked the Lindbergh Hiking Club Trail and enjoyed the views of the Pike Creek from the North and South footbridges, checked out the Jenny Landing Site, and took in the forested and prairie potions of the trail In the future, we’d love to check out the Charles A. Lindbergh Historic Site and House, which are located along the Mississippi River, to learn more about Charles Augustus Lindbergh’s (the pilot) controversial life #OnlyinMN #MnStateParks #ExploreMN #ExploreMinnesota #Minnesota #CentralMinnesota #MNPassportClub #OptOutside #WanderOn #CapCut #foryoupage

I have to drive to St Cloud every Sunday and get cramped up after hours of driving. Last week we decided to stop here for an afternoon walk to stretch. I love it! Charles A. Lindberg State Park has a little bit of everything camping, trails, historic buildings to visit, a museum, saw some kayaks and a canoe that looked rentable (a couple campsites right next to the creek for such activities), attentive park staff, a playground for the little ones, picnic area. Make sure you stop to check it out. I'll definitely be stopping again. A word of warning. It's muddy and wet. Some of the trails were closed off due to the recent rain but we've had an incredible amount this spring. Next time I'll probably bring mud boots and extra socks. Just in case.

Nice state park with long even camp sites to park your RV. There are wooded areas between sites so even if you can see the next camp site through the trees you feel a sense of privacy. There is no grass in the sites but it's still beautiful here. Pike Creek runs right behind our site and there's a little observation deck where you can watch and listen as the water runs over the rocks. There are hiking trails here and a visitor center you can tour and learn about the solo flights of Charles Lindberg. You can also tour his childhood home. This is our first camping trip here but we will definitely be back!
