We stopped at Oak Hill Conservation as a halfway point on our drive home to Maine from Connecticut. Lookout Rock was pretty easy to get to although even though it was a clear day the Boston skyscrapers were not "clearly visible" as stated in the guide book. The view was pretty and well worth the stop. The only other issue is that there are a lot of trails and "spurs" that if you are not paying close attention to your map (we took a picture of the map at the trailhead) it could be easy to get a bit lost. Read moreWonderful walking trails that can lead to a bit of exertion for a healthy hike. A great place for families and dogs on a leash. Cool geological features can be seen in the rock and Lookout rock is a special place for picnic lunch, with views into Boston. Read moreOak Hill is a great conservation area with a bunch of hiking trails to choose from. I have been here twice now and have only parked at the trailhead on Oak Hill Rd. I believe there is another parking area on Harvard Rd. The highlights of this area to me are Lookout Rock and Tophet Chasm. When I hiked here I did a loop hike that brought me to Lookout Rock first then went on to check out Tophet Chasm. Nice vista from Lookout Rock, on clear days you can see the skyscrapers in Boston in the distance. Tophet Chasm is a cool natural feature where you can walk around the chasm or along its floor. Great local hike and the trails are...
