I'm usually not one to leave reviews but this one I ha e no choice. I rate this place one star for the scenery. It was a beautiful place but while my children and I were there we encountered a couple of suba divers. Royal springs recommended this place to us because it accepted dogs. But when we got there the said suba divers were taking up the whole step the ENTIRE 30 minutes we were there. The instructor of the divers was VERY rude!!! My 5 year old son went up and politely ask what they were doing? The man responded with "I'm trying to conduct a session with this lady who paid a lot of money to learn to scuba dive"... "and you don't interrupt adults by just asking, you say excuse me first". To the point he was so rude about it my son came up to me very upset and wanted to leave because "that man down there was mean to him". I understand there are people who pay money to do things just like we did. My children were out on spring break and trying to enjoy time with family and their puppy. If I were the paying client of that said instructor, I would have never let him train me again just based off of his unprofessionalism and rudeness towards and innocent child!!! Do...
Read moreNice spot here, we unfortunately arrived during a brown out so no swimming or diving due to the murky waters. But we look forward to coming back to snorkel and dive here. We did walk the interpretive trail, it was a nice short hike at only 1 mile. This park could definitely use some volunteers, there is a lot of overgrown vegetation, both around the water, and especially on the trail. This park needs volunteers to walk the trail with a machete and Sling Blade, as you can see from the pictures the trails are very much overgrown, and a very narrow path. With the right kind of volunteers and trail maintenance it would be a wonderful walk! If I lived in the area, I would do it myself. But I live over five hours away, so don’t think I am saying this park needs volunteers, and would not volunteer myself having the situation be different. All in all though, it is a beautiful park, great scenery, and could be an experience like none other. Get out and go visit your state and...
Read morePay as you enter. Put the $ in the envelope and sign in. It helps keep the parks open to sign in so the county knows its being used and keeps the springs open.
The actual peacock side of the springs are Back quite a ways down a sand county road, be aware of this if you are in a small car. There is 2 way traffic (narrow road) so be aware of traffic coming the other way around the corners
Peacock has a great memorial boardwalk from the sand parking to the steps leading to the spring. It is well posted NO OPEN WATER DIVERS. The stairs have treads and there is a small changing shed and porto toilet at the site. We bought a foldable wagon and it was a great service here. Park closes at 6pm, from what i hear they will close the gate and your stuck....
