California is a beautiful state and the area was pretty. There were picnic tables, a water fountain, and restrooms. Parking was available, but the parking area isn't paved so make sure your tires are in good condition before you hit that rocky lot. It's mostly a hiking area and some things were closed off as they need to be fixed, so it may be best to wait a little bit before going until repairs from the wet winter are completed. You can't see any water without a hike and a someone who loves to be around water, it did impact the rating I gave it. We did see a duck on the road on the way up in a ranch pond and that was fun.

Read moreThe longest trail from start to finish is a little under 5 miles. I have taken my son with me since he was 5 although he complains a bit he gets it done 😂 I also have hiked it while 6 months pregnant so its doable. Depending on what way you go up its either a steep incline or gradual incline. If you start from the end of the trail and go up it's a gradual incline. Dog friendly place but must be on leash. Bathroom/water available in parking lot There is a mini lake/pond no fishing allowed. Depending on time of year there are ducks, frogs, cows, sheep and plenty of lizzards/squirrels. Definitely check the weather before going some days it can be windy others super hot depending on time of year. Definitely a place to take the family for fitness or to get away...

But be patient and continue to the clusters of green towards the top and you will be glad you did. It transforms into a gorgeous landscape full of rocks, bushes, trees, sweet scents, and is alive with wildlife. There are tranquil spots to rest under the trees and the views are nice as well. We took a beautiful path down that was a little rocky leading past one of the life giving vernal pools. After hiking the trail I looked up the history of it and I wasn’t surprised to learn that it was considered a sacred place for the natives of the area. This...
