Sis drove up the mountain for the annual Quilt show.

The drive was a hair raising, S curves, U curves, don't look down, dizzy, hold on for your life, like riding a roller coaster, glad when we reached the top!

It was extremely windy, so getting pictures was a trial. But looking at all the muscle motorcycles (and drivers) made up for it all.

The trip down was equally scary, but the scenery was stunning & well...

There are some really nice campsites although they do have to be reserved pretty far in advance and even then it's hard to get a reservation at some of them. I really do love them though in the only other big downside is that they allow generators. I don't know why someone would want to go be out in the forest camping and listen to generators all day, oh well at least I didn't hear any chain...

We had a family reunion at the CCC camp ( Camp Needmore ). Ekalaka, Montana. The family rented the entire facility, and was perfect for our needs. Dining hall, bunk houses, bathrooms and showers. So do not show up expecting a host...

We stayed at Slim Buttes while hunting for four days. Right in the heart of Harding county. Great place to make camp and enjoy the scenery when not hunting. I'd definitely come here just for a weekend trip to just find peace. There are multiple outhouses, but no other services. It was perfect for us!!! Can't beat the sunrises and sunsets either!

Wonderful mountain forest and rivers run along this hidden treasure. Nearby Yellowstone gets the attention but you should visit Cooke City and the trails of this National Forest. The forest trails are well kept and some trail heads have parking. Beware of insects in summer. As in any National Forest dogs are allowed in leashes.
