Read moreGreat playground and cool workout area for adults (13+, to be technical). Looks like bathrooms are being built. Nice little trails and multiple paved paths that lead to the baseball fields. Picnic tables, benches, and plenty of room to bring a chair. The playground area itself is great for toddlers up to maybe 11 or 12. Two zip line runs, a merry-go-round that is enclosed and spins pretty fast compared to most these days, a bunch of cool interactive stations with bells, chimes, gears, and the multi sensory areas that are pretty common on modern jungle gyms. A few ADA areas add a new inclusive touch. The ground is turf, a long grass feeling type with a bouncey base that's great at cushioning your average fall. There's a second playground if the newer ones filled, which at peak times it will be. It's older but has a cool central hub style design with several slides (update: partially broken but still usable). Next to that are a set of swings, but they're the nothing special standard kid and baby type. There is a new bathroom that was installed winter 2023. Not open currently but there are portajohns, or, you can walk about 5 minutes over to the fields where there are brick and mortar open ones for most of the year (not sure on timeframe). The workout area is full of resistance equipment and for what's there you could make a full circuit out of them. It's actually really cool. From balance exercises to benches with foot holds for sit ups, etc, even hand pedal bike. Beyond the playgrounds but still in that general area is a large pavilion that can be rented. It's got a bunch of picnic tables and from what I'm told power hookups. I'm sure the city can give you the most accurate info if you call to reserve it. Lastly, let's talk sun and shade. There are a handful of trees near the park as well as a line of trees that borders the parks western edge. The new playground area has lots of little areas of shade for the kids, but not much for the parents. If you come in the middle of summer in the afternoon it's gonna be toasty. Not far from the playground area you can find a newer pavilion with room for 5 or 6 tables. There are more trees not far from that where you could set up chairs or bring canopies like so many people seem to have these days. Not far from the park are stores and gas stations to grab snacks and drinks. I believe the far bathroom by the fields has a fountain, but I'm...
Read moreI thought I already left an extensive review! Overall- great park for active families with little ones. Not so great for teens unless they want to exercise at the on site gym. Bathrooms new this year, but not opened yet. There's a Porta John currently. Water fountains on exterior of new bathrooms (also, yet to be turned on 4/1/24) Playground- super cool! Very new, with lots of climbing, hiding spots, a bit of shade, and ADA gear. That includes a double zip line feature, oversized teeter, and wheel chair accessible merry-go-round. There's an older playground adjacent to the new one that's a bit run down but still fun for my 4 year old. Tons of cool slides between the both. Swings are a bit older but fresh wood chips were added. There's also a 15 or 20 piece gym. All resistance based exercises. Very cool feature to go and utilize while the kids play. At the center of the park is a rounded seating area, with benches on the edges that have solar-powered phone ports. There are 2 pavilions near the park, as well as tables. Beyond those shade comes from a handful of trees. There are a couple walking trails, very short, but good for kids 3+. The other side has soccer, and baseball, as well as doggie parks! People walk their dogs through...
