St Mary's Cultural Center — Attraction in Livonia

My fiance & I scheduled a tour for a potential venue for our reception at St Mary's Cultural Center. We were recommended by a friend that we should check this place out. Our appointment was for 7pm and arrived a few minutes early and entered the main lobby. No one was around to greet us, however there was another event going on so we decided to wait a few minutes. 30 min past and still no one greeted us. We called the venue while we were inside thinking they might have a second phone elsewhere. No one answered. Waited another 10 minutes and then left very disappointed.

It sucks because this place is very pretty and I've heard the venue service is good! However, getting stood up when you are looking to drop some serious cash...

We used St. Mary's for a work Christmas Party and I could not be happier with out experience from start to finish. Beautiful venue, accommodating with setup and take down, amazing amazing workers, from the Chef Andre to Robert who helped set us up and assist with anything we needed, to Keith who we booked with and finalized all details with. The attendants serving our dinner made sure all the kids meals were out and ready to be taken to the tables, and almost EVERY GUEST said that this was the best "catered" food they have ever had. We got the chicken kabobs and the sliced sirloin with au jus. I am just so so so happy with our entire experience,...

Was there recently for a wedding reception. (Have been there numerous times previously for sports banquets and receptions.).

As always, the food was excellent. The banquet staff was efficient. The MC (not sure if he was with the hall or was hired separately) was excellent. The issue was the bartender. !!! What a sullen, unfriendly, miserable person they had working that night!!!

Unbelievable. Maybe she was angry because the reception down the hall was bigger or had more booze and thus more tips? Don't know ...and don't care. She should not be permitted to work anywhere near customers/guests, she dragged down your otherwise...
