‼️‼️ UPDATE: new board has taken over and completely ruined this animal sanctuary. She's just letting the animals die ands is stealing the donations!! Shut them down or give back ownership to those who really care
Stopped here since it wasn't too far out of the way of our original route but I am so happy we did! This was one of the cleanest, best kept sanctuaries I've ever been to (including other sanctuaries, zoos, etc). The animals look so healthy and they have SO much space to roam around, play and enjoy themselves. I love how natural their habitats are kept so it isn't too artificial for them (unlike some other places I've been to). The volunteers and workers here are also so kind and welcoming. I talked to Danielle (the volunteer coordinator) throughout my time here and she was absolutely amazing! She was so informative and it was a pleasure getting to talk to her about the animals, their care, and other information relating to the sanctuary. I also had a lovely conversation with Wayne about Liberty the tiger which was a very nice experience. Overall, I learned a lot more than I would have otherwise if I had just walked through by myself without asking any questions, so I am very happy about that. Though the admission is free, really try to donate all that you can to this wonderful animal sanctuary. Especially with COVID and the financial backlash from that, this place deserves all the...
Read moreI have visited Noahs Ark for several years now, & was dissapointed,on my last visit. On May 11 I went with my son & the first thing we noticed, the bathrooms were both out of service. This is unacceptable with so many visitors & about 5 school buses with children. There were porta potties, but nowhere to wash your hands, this is a health hazard especially after touching animals.
The animal feces all over the park where people walk is ridiculous. You cannot walk without looking where you step. If you cannot pick this up why let animals roam where visitors step. The trashcans were overflowing with trash & there was a volunteer lady just sitting doing nothing, my son picked up trash & placed in the overflowing trashcan & she made no effort to correct this or even thank him
The large old brown bear was sitting in his enclosure reaked of urine. That pond next to him was brown filthy water, so sad he can at least get clean water
There seems to be signs all over begging for donations, so why should i donate if this park is not being attended to properly?
Very...
Read moreA great place for abused, abandoned, unwanted, or animals who can no longer be taken care of. The habitats are spacious, fit for that animal and/or its special needs. If you read on their websites the stories of the animals, you can clearly see that this facility will do anything and everything to tame, cure, and keep the animals happy. Also, all of the animals have a separate personality of their own if you look close enough. But, you have to come at the right time of day and when the temperature is right, if you don't, you wont see as much as the animals as you hoped to.I went on a 68 degree late November, about 12:00 in the day, and most of the animals were sleeping, hiding, or if you were a few monkeys or the birds, making noise and playing. But, all in all, it was a great place to see all kinds of animals and how most humans aren't cruel people. Also, when I went, it was free. But I believe the busier times of the year cost money, but i may be wrong. I believe the behind the scenes tour...
