I've done wine tasting tours numerous times in my life, but NEVER have I been so mistreated as I was at Calivine! As our 2nd stop on a Lodi wine tasting tour, as we exited our shuttle for our reservations for wine tasting, some dark haired, hateful woman came running out and accused the one handicap person in the group as being "too drunk to serve!?" It was utterly humiliating to her, but the hateful woman, refused to listen. She insisted, our poor handicap friend, was "cut-off" and as we tried to reason with her, she cut-off the rest of us as well. Our 1st stop in Lodi was at the Michael David winery. We were treated with respect , had a nice lunch and tasted fine wines. Collectively, between the four of us that paid, we spent over $1500. Calivine left similar money on the table by sending their crazed attack dog after us! Honestly, I have NO IDEA what crawled up her... whatever, and died, but that woman's hateful actions against a disabled person is unforgiveable! Let's start with the food. The cheesy garlic bread was simply divine. Its warm, gooey texture and savory flavors were a heavenly delight. It paired perfectly with the wines and set the stage for a delightful culinary journey.
Speaking of the oil mill, the olive oil tasting was nothing short of fantastic. The flavors of the olive oils were robust and distinct, showcasing the high quality of the ingredients. The balsamic vinegar was tangy and paired well with the oils!
As for the wines, the 2021 Vicino Pinot Noir stole the show. This light summer red wine was a true delight. It possessed a delicate balance of fruitiness and acidity, making it an ideal companion for warm evenings. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in the winemaking process were...
Read moreThe hosts in here are rude and snobs. Didn't even greet me when I walked in, and walked past me twice. The lady didn't even want to call me when I was next in line and her whole face showed it. I've been in the industry for a decade and I'm sick of the racism and judgdy demeanor like these ladies expressed in the industry. I probably have more wine knowledge then them but they acted too stuck up to speak with me.
And $20 for a tasting.... in Lodi? I actually would have stayed and paid the $20, if their attitudes...
