Ken Adam Park — Attraction in Lompoc

This review is for the playground area ONLY. I don't believe the playground is or ever has been maintained by anyone. It's pretty dirty. Like its got moss growing on some of the structure which to be fair it's surrounded by Oak trees so its bound to happen but the trash and dirty equipment could be cleaned at least 1x a month right? It unfortunately has sand and the red ants love the sand. Kids love to play in the sand but not that red ant bite. Trash that has been bleached by the sun so you know its been there a minute. It has the structure for swing but does not have any swings to play on and its been that way for quite some time now. Honestly its in just a beautiful location that I really wish renovations would happen for this place. We went on a little hike to the Astronaut Memorial so it wasn't a total bust. Went to view a launch from Vandenberg sfb. Was recommended by locals. There is an area called astronaut memorial and i walked out to a bluff to watch. The park itself is modest with an area for tents, a couoke picnic tanles, swingset. A number of slots for campers/rv's. Peeps walk dogs there. Unfortunately the city/county does not maintain it very well and the land,including the hilltop i was on is on the 2024 ballot to be sold and privatized to an entrepreneur who wishes to turn it into a space-aged amusement park with a hotel. Progress/change is part of life,however, buying up land to tear up for pure profit...ruins natural habitat and it will become exclusive to those who wish to pay to play. Reserved the park for my son's wedding reception. The perfect venue. Plenty of space (seating/gathering/parking) for our group of about 120. Private, with plenty of shade or sun depending on your desire. Beautiful trees that make a great backdrop for pictures. There is a huge BBQ with tables on either side for prep..
