So this is an amazing park. It is really beautiful with beautiful sunrise and sunset views not to mention the mountains themselves all day long. There is a sort of man made waterfall here that is really neat and a bunch of different trails. Evidently this is the beginning of the St. Vrain Greenway that is being rebuilt because of the 2013 flood. It reaches from the Golden Ponds Park to Sandstone. It is miles of beautiful views and neat wildlife along the way. There are many things to do and see along this trail. Golden Ponds Park also has its own set of trails around the ponds that are in the park so if you would rather just get your exercise there you can but if you are wanting to go on a day hike without being an expert in the mountains you can do that too. It is also great for cycling. There is good fishing here too from what I hear. Really fun for everyone. There are certain rules about the fishing on what you can keep if anything. If you want to play it safe though just plan on it being catch and release. The St. Vrain Greenway Trail is not quite finished yet with one small section still under construction near the Left Hand Brewery. I was out toward the St. Vrain State Park the other day and as I was coming back into Longmont from Firestone I noticed on the right hand side of the road it looked like they were building some new sidewalks out there like they may be connecting Sandstone with the St. Vrain State Park somehow. I am not sure about any of this I just know I saw some new sidewalks out there that continued along the St. Vrain Creek. I know it would be pretty neat though if it...

The water way is so serene to walk along, with the birds and the water taking up the noise. When it's green, it's super shady so on a hot day you can stay cool. The ponds are a great place for fishing too, though I've personally never been. There are multiple gazebos scattered around the ponds where you can take shelter if a summer storm approaches, and they all have picnic tables so they are great places to munch on lunch. This is by far my favorite park in Longmont, not only because of all the fun I've had and the memories associated, but also because of the oasis it provides from...
Read moreReally nice shelters, shaded walkways, and lots of water with plenty of wildlife that makes these ponds their home. I love just coming here and stopping in one of the shelters and painting the view of Long's Peak. I also love stopping by the waterfall, or walking the stepping stones across the holding pond when the water level isn't too high. A lovely place. There's even a bike fixing station in the center, by the bridge across the stream at the bottom of the waterfall, for all those that come through on their bikes. It's part of the paths connected throughout Longmont, and a lovely place to just wander...
