The reservoir itself is very nice. The kiosk staff ditto. The rangers varied from very heavy handed to reasonable. The instructions from event staff didn’t match the rangers on the water, one of whom delighted in making wakes for the paddle boarders. We also had terrible experience with the Conccessionaires for the paddle boards. Don’t rent on site. Rude , entitled and burned out teenagers. Rent before you go.

Hands-down, one of the most beautiful places in the greater Front Range area. The off-leash dog beach is incredible! $10 for the whole day, which is a great deal. The views are stunning from every angle - the mountains, the lake, green space. Very well-maintained and plenty of parking, at least on the weekdays. I hear that the weekends get crazy-crowded, but I still think it's worth it. Enjoy!

Nice, clean areas around the large reservoir. Some wildlife to watch - pelicans, large owls, bald eagles. Paddle boat rentals available. However, in my opinion paying a $12 fee to enter is a bit much. Boulder is full of beautiful reservoirs with picnic areas, hiking trails, paddling/kayaking, and biking for FREE. Macintosh lake is a good example.

This isn't the place to go fishing but they do have a lot of water activities and a dog beach. This park is pretty cool for the entire family including the four legged family members. The dog beach is pretty unique and has never seemed too busy like some dog parks. There is also a normal swimming beach right next to the dogs beach but doesn't look like water I would personally get in but kids enjoy it. There is a watercraft rental center so you can bring your own or rent and the rental prices are very reasonable. It does get busy on the water with kite boarders on the weekend but the reservoir is pretty big so you aren't running into each other but to get to the other side of the lake would take quite a bit of work and time. I brought my boat out to fish and 5.5 hours and not even a bite throwing everything you could think of at them and going around to several spots. So I don't recommend for that. Overall fair prices, fun water sports and stuff to do makes this a great place for the...

The dog beach here is fantastic!! The water was clean, there were probably 20 dogs out when we went but there is enough room for everyone to spread out so we weren't all on top of each other. I have kayaked out here before as well and really enjoyed it. I think I am going to get a season pass this year so I can take the dogs more often. The only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is parking. There is basically one lot and if you want to go down to the dog beach, that lot is not close. So if I go by myself it would be difficult for me to bring my kayak and my dog (with life jackets, etc) because the walk down is too far and I couldn't make it all...

Lots of dogs, I don’t mind that but the trend is that there are too many bully dogs (I’m not naming a breed, but it’s always the same BS with owners that don’t care. One owner of such “bully” dog actually took his dog by the collar, after it pinned down my 8 month pup, stating:”oh man, you’re not behaving I should put you on a leash.” Only to release his dog 30 seconds later. I’m venting I guess, but why do people breed these dogs if the majority can’t educate or socialize or handle them? I don’t get it! Must be a LW-syndrome. But I digress, the lake is nice ;-) Cost $12/day weekend...
