there are multiple ways that you can get into the waterfalls. We started near the "Beaver Creek falls" map location in google map and ended from "beaver falls trail-head". we reached the top of the waterfall and it was very beautiful. you can go to the edge of the fall and look down. it was an amazing view (Water level in Aug was not that high so it was safe. Otherwise be careful). If you need to go to the bottom of the fall, then you have to cross the small water stream/river. the water level was up to the ankle level, so wasn't a big deal. These falls are mouth-agape astounding, flowing over a really large ledge of a Columbia River Basalt flow, sitting atop an earlier flow of columns, which might be atop a streambed as there is a little bit of clay under all of that rock. Neato. Big grotto. Slippery, but you can get behind them & then are left with the choice of falling in the stream or falling on the incredibly slippery rocks you've just come through. Ymmv

Read moreBeaver Creek Falls is a nice pitstop on the way to or from Astoria. It's a short jaunt up and down the hillside from the parking lot to the base of the falls. The path is 100% dirt so be prepared for mud during the wet months. The falls have a lovely roar that can be heard before it's seen, there are a few attractive signs to encourage you along the way.
That being said, this is a "local" secret, there's not much for signs guiding you to and from the parking spot, you'll have to do some hunting to find the right path.
