AdventureTerra LLC — Attraction in Lopez Island

My day with Adventure Terra was a climbers dream come true. When we first arrived in the slight drizzle of an overcast day, coffee in hand, I didn't know what to expect. I watched as Leo, our guide, took everyone through the steps of pulling yourself up a tree and rappelling down safely and efficiently. I felt comfortable in the gear provided as I made my way up the trunk as we practiced. Little did I know, we were only using this first tree for training. After we were all adjusted to the technique, we strolled through the beautiful growth of Silver Falls State Park. Leo was insightful about the trees and the land. He shared lots of great knowledge with all the guests as we approached our main ascent... A GIANT old growth tree in the middle of the park. Where I was unsure about climbing hundreds of feet into the air at first, I felt supported by the staff and other adventurers and pushed through. I'm glad I did. We made our way above all other trees and through the sky as the clouds opened up. I have never seen such a view that I worked for and now have many of the skills to do this again! I felt like I was bonding with the people around as I grinned my way through the branches. This is an opportunity you won't get anywhere...

This was a birthday present for my fiancé who loves to be outdoors. Made a weekend trip out of it and visited the other islands as well.

From the beginning the staff was very communicative to help with scheduling and logistical planning since I wasn’t very familiar with the ferry system and island. We traveled on foot so our guide Leo was more than happy to pick us up at the ferry terminal since it was a little ways away from the actual climbing location.

We had a great time! Chatted with our guide Leo who was extremely patient and supportive during the climb. The motions were a little weird to me at first but I think I got the hang of it after a while. Once we got to the top, the views were beautiful and so unique. The group was tired after two climbs so Leo was kind enough to give us a little walking tour of the property.

Tree climbing was a Christmas gift for my sons. I decided to use the Silver Falls location and couldn't be happier. We had a beautiful day to be out. We were at the meeting place early because we were anxious to get going. Leo drove in right ahead of the 1pm meeting so no time was lost.

Leo is a great instructor and wasted no time getting to the business at hand. He is the type of person you hope to encounter when you do things like this. He is engaging, friendly, kind, knowledgeable, patient and enjoys what he does. My sons reading my review, also commented that Leo is enthusiastic and indeed he is.

The experience was fantastic. My boys and I would like to do it again. To experience the forest canopy in this way was amazing. Leo is a great ambassador of Adventure Terra. Because of him and the experience we had I would not hesitate to sign up for any other Adventure...
