It was very interesting, Employees were friendly and informative, and the young lady was a sweetheart and walked with me and took some photos and got me started out (they also have a tour I declined)
So you walk along the plaques that are engraved beautifully, read about our history, famous artwork, a church on a hill at the end, a maze (3 circles) and more I didn't get to ( this visit) I believe on our armed forces and parachuting? Which they do they do there once a year. I was there for about 2 hrs, I got a bit burnt in December so I would not do this in the heat/ hot months. ..... and a pyramid over the plaque that says it's the center of the Earth.....
Cute gift shop, & you get a certificate so you can get in free in the future.
It was pretty cool, I'm...

So cool and unique. You could spend hours even days here.
I wanted to update this review! I wrote that a few years ago after our first visit.
It is still five stars and if I could give it a million stars I would! We fell in love with the uniqueness and beauty of this special place. We didn’t know at the time that the people who reside in the little city are just as incredible. We had our wedding here and they were so over the top amazing there are just not enough words. They made our memory the most special day ever. Thank you so much for the excellent communication and support. Most of all thank you for the warmth and genuine happiness for us. Thank you Mr Jim Beard and Felicia and Jacques Istel for making our day so memorable 💕 and...

Celebrating the year with a visit to the open-air museum "History in Granite." This idea was started by Jacques-André Istel, a French immigrant, 20 years ago and has not yet been finished. Located in the city of Felicity, CA, 15 or so miles from Yuma, AZ, it was created for future generations. Using only red Granite, which is durable, he has taken on the task of capturing the history of humanity in detail. Only 30% finished, it is a unique experience to be there. Points of interest: 1. The arm of Michelangelo's creation points to True North and is the starting point. 2. The Pyramid is the Official Center of the World. 3. The Chapel on the Hill. 4. The Granite Walls engraved with the history of humanity. Truly an "Unusual...

The Museum of History in Granite, nestled in Felicity, California, stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of humanity etched in stone. Founded by Jacques-André Istel, a visionary with a passion for preserving history, this unique museum is not just a collection of artifacts but a living chronicle of human achievement spanning millennia. As you enter the museum, you are greeted by towering granite monuments adorned with meticulously carved historical narratives. Each monument serves as a timeless tribute to significant events, cultures, and individuals who have shaped our world. From ancient civilizations to modern marvels, the museum offers a comprehensive journey through the annals of time. One of the most striking features of the Museum of History in Granite is the World History Pyramid. Rising 100 feet into the sky, this monumental structure is adorned with over 7,000 square feet of granite panels, each depicting key moments in world history. From the dawn of civilization to the present day, visitors can trace the evolution of human society and marvel at the interconnectedness of our global heritage. In addition to the World History Pyramid, the museum is home to a diverse array of thematic monuments, each dedicated to a specific aspect of human history. From the evolution of communication to the exploration of space, these monuments offer a deep dive into the triumphs and challenges of human ingenuity. One notable monument is the Vietnam War Memorial, a solemn tribute to the sacrifices of those who served in one of the most divisive conflicts of the 20th century. Carved into the granite are the names of over 58,000 servicemen and women who gave their lives in service to their country, ensuring that their memory will never be forgotten. Another highlight of the museum is the Space Age Monument, which celebrates humanity's exploration of the cosmos. From the first manned spaceflight to the latest advancements in space exploration, this monument honors the pioneers who dared to reach for the stars and expand the horizons of human knowledge. Beyond its monumental sculptures, the Museum of History in Granite also offers a wealth of educational resources for visitors of all ages. From guided tours to interactive exhibits, visitors can immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of human history and gain a deeper appreciation for the legacy we have inherited. In addition to its role as a cultural landmark, the museum serves as a beacon of community engagement and civic pride. Through outreach programs and special events, the museum fosters a sense of connection among visitors and encourages dialogue about the past, present, and future of humanity. In essence, the Museum of History in Granite is more than just a collection of stone monuments; it is a living testament to the resilience, creativity, and spirit of humanity. As we wander through its hallowed halls, we are reminded of our shared heritage and the enduring power of human achievement to inspire, educate, and unite us all. #Felicity #California #Museumofgranite #fyp #Bell #Centeroftheworld

🌎 Center of the World, Felicity CA 🌍
This was an absolutely fascinating day trip from Phoenix ☀️ 🚘
Recognized as the official Center of the World by France and a few other countries.
The Pyramid is the Center of the World
The church of Felicity on the hill was gorgeous!
The staircase is the actual original stairs that were in the Eiffel Tower! 🇫🇷
And then the most captivating part was the engraved stone of the History of Humanity. I could have stayed there all day reading these. The stones were endless and even in different languages.
To my wanderlust friends - this is a must visit!
But be prepared - it is HOT ☀️ 🔥
We then spent the rest of the day in Yuma, which I’ll add to another post. It was a blast!
