   Read moreWe went to Panoche Hills on Sunday April 2. From April through October the last 6 miles of the unpaved road to the visitor center is closed due to fire prevention. Visitors can park in the parking area on the side of Little Panoche Road. Towards visitor center is a easy to moderate uphill hiking. After about 1 hour or 2-3 miles, one enters into the public land.
