Pros: it's local and affordable when you just need a place to cool off. There is usually ample seating. Cons: if there were some adults around supervising the place, that would be great. Everything is run by teenagers. That in itself would be fine, except many of them are not mature enough to supervise themselves. For instance: there was a female lifeguard (turquoise shirt, long brown ponytail) and male lifeguard (yellow shirt, bushy brown hair) both sitting at the stairway to the lazy river. They were too concerned about socializing with each other for either of them to hand the inner tubes to patrons as they usually do, so people were just walking up and getting their own. At one point, the boy started playing with the girl's feet.
There have been several instances this summer where the lifeguards were busy gossiping instead of paying attention to the crowd.
The very first rule posted in several locations around the property says that behavior or language inappropriate for a family environment can lead to removal from the park. It would behoove management to hold their employees to the same standards.
Most of the time the music that the staff plays is just background noise, but once in a while the kids running the concession stand will decide to turn it louder to an obnoxious volume. Yesterday it sounded like they were trying to DJ at a club.
Management: teens and young adults are capable of behaving professionally and in a mature manner. But it's up to you to make sure they understand those expectations. It makes for a very unpleasant experience when parents are there with their kids and feel like they should be babysitting the lifeguards.
Safety concern: the blue (faster) slide has what looks to be a larger than normal leak where two of the pieces are joined. It appears as though someone has attempted to tape underneath to keep it from leaking, but the tape has come loose and is just...
Read moreIts a nice neighborhood waterpark, but they really need a sign used at bigger parks. People with open wounds should be prohibited from entering the water. I was there last weekend with my wife and 3 yr old. Everything was great until I noticed an old lady walking along the kiddie section, constantly washing out a disgusting lemon sized wound on her ankle. The little water jets on the ground where the kids play, she walked up and down the row of spouts, washing out that big yellow hole in her ankle. Then she would stand on the frist step in the kiddie pool and just soak it. That was dusgusting. Ever heard of staph infections???? If your kid gets sore throat, eyes or ears, its it's most likely from someone like this being in the same water. We took our kid and got out of there. Nobody told her anything. There was no sign at the entrance to prohibit people who don't seem to have any common sense or for sure, common decency, from entering the water with big open wounds. Disgusting. There were 1 and 2 year olds playing right next to her. She didn't give a damn. I told the 2 girls working the entrance, to notify management about putting up a sign. They said ok and went back to talking. Think about it. Washing out a gross diabetic ulcer looking wound right next to where your toddler is playing in the same...
Read moreWent to my niece's gender reveal party here. The covered pavilions are perfect whether there's rain or shine! They accommodate plenty of people and have several trash barrels surrounding the area, making clean up a breeze....unless there's an actual breeze blowing and your stuff goes flying...then clean up could be challenging. I saw a group of ladies having a party for autistic and other children. One young man who was non verbal kept coming to our pavilion for cookies and some chips and dip. Apparently, he liked what we were serving better than the options his group offered. Each time a nice young lady was right behind him to bring him back to the group. I wish I'd gotten the name of their group because those ladies were awesome with the kids!! Patience of Saints! They had a waterslide set up....I'm not sure if Aqua Pards provided it for an extra cost or if they rented it elsewhere. Regardless, I think it's great they're allowed and saves your yard from turning into a muddy breeding ground for mosquitoes! Overall this is a great place to host a party for kids, adults, etc.....well maybe not all types of adult parties but family friendly types! Oh, the pavilions are spread out perfectly. You're far enough away that a group can be loud without interfering with...
