What a great little gem of a park. This RV park has green grass with beautiful trees. It's quiet and easy to find. There's a boat ramp very close and clean pavilions. The camp sites are long, paved, and level. We had water, direct sewer, 30 and 50 amp, fire pit, and table. Please respect others by observing the check out time of 1pm, for check in is 2pm.

We stopped here on our trip across the US. We love this campground. The host William is very nice and everyone is very social who stays here. The sites are clean and having individual trash cans right outside your camper is a luxury we will miss at our next couple of campsites.

We were so glad to have found this place!

It was a perfect spot to be able to go into Lake Charles from and we really enjoyed the town (which was bigger than we thought with beautiful parks & boardwalks). The locals are so darn nice and after traveling around for the past few months, that is saying something! We have really encountered some overall rude and stuck up cities, like Dungaree CO, so Lake Charles was refreshing to visit. Heck, we actually started looking at house prices here and we are from the Pacific NW! 🙂

Campground has a great launch for boats and kayaks, so most of the daily traffic was from that, but other than the very loud birds at the crack of dawn, it was extremely quiet. Very clean too! Nice playground for kids that the locals use primarily.

We were a tad taken aback to be asked for our driver’s license number by the camp host though. Didn’t really want to give it out and we now are questioning ourselves as to why we did it.

TOURISTY INFO: We really enjoyed watching locals crab off the boardwalk downtown and watched them pull in huge blue crabs every single minute! Crazy! We did indulge in the drive through crawfish places and “Crawfish Boil ‘n Go” was hands down the best place to get them, like their reviews said. Honey B Ham was one place the locals told us to go and we enjoyed the boudin balls there but the crawfish weren’t as good or as clean as the Boil n Go place. The casinos were a nice respite from the heat, to walk through. Very clean and not filled with smoke.

Very weak cell service was the only drawback, but it would eventually...

Could be great but apparently has a "homeless people" problem. Arrived at 4 the bathroom was completely trashed, someone dumped a bunch of clothing in the trash trash was overflowing, no toilet paper. And dirty. I called to report it and they said they would try to send going out to take care of it they arrived about 6:30 told my husband that it was probably ."homeless people". Said her husband was home with over 100 degree temp as She proceeded to cough as emptied all of the campsite trash. Around 10:30pm, 3 cars pulled into the day use area and used the showers in the camping area and then stayed for free in the day use overnight. In addition to that one of the other campers had his toilet pulled out of the camper and was rinsing it at site 7 potable water!!!! Gross .

The good was the shower was hot, site level, electric and water for...

The last two times we stayed, March and April 2018, there were drunks filling the park. March they were fighting and April they were screaming country western songs until 2am. Loose dogs and children running all over spaces with no parental supervision. This USED to be a nice place. Both times the park supervisor was no where to be seen. Campers throwing food in the woods and washing Rv at site...could not tell if they...
