The (former Newburg Park) Petersburg Park is a vast improvement over what it was in the 60's when I first went to Louisville. The city put considerable time, effort and resources into its redevelopment during the 90s. As I recall the last time that I was in Louisville they had built quite a few shelters. The landscaping is much improved. There are several diamonds as well as basketball courts. So, it should come as no surprise that quite a few church and community outings are held there. I think when I was down there I saw a bike club meeting....little league football practice......a couple separate picnic areas filled with birthday parties and family cook outs. Very nice walking path. Playground looked good, it was my first time there and everything is pretty well laid out but so big i had to drive around to the other side of it I couldn't view from where I immediately pulled in to, but was still able to easily locate my friend I was meeting once I made a lap around to the backside from...
Read morefun park, but the concern lies with the stability of the swings and some of the stuff they have here. Even the not-so-cleanliness in the bathroom makes you cringe and avoid the bathroom if no soap is there.
The water sprays are inconsistent, button to press to activate it doesnt work, so it goes on its own terms, ok , so sometimes we wont know when it comes back until we hear it. A tweak is needed for the water sprinkler area, a list showing times or a refraction period of it. So that all guests are aware of when it comes back on when playing...
