Read moreStunning views of the mountains with a variety of spaces/courts for people to play basketball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, etc. There’s a pear orchard pathway near a serene, open field that is perfect for your kids to play and frolic on as well. Though, the nearby playground might be a more entertaining experience, or perhaps the little picnic shelter if you brought a meal. The dog park was much loved by my pup, and I thought it was exceptionally nice too. Mehaffey also has a fantastic skate park and great running/biking trails if you’re into that :)
We didn’t venture off to explore all areas of this vast park, but I was content with everything I did see this time and cannot wait to check out the rest! As I was looking for the dog park area I noticed that there is a skate park here and a very cool looking playground! The dog park was a tad difficult to find, but if you come in from 29th street, as you are pulling into the parking area, the dog park is towards the south east. You can walk there from the parking area, or park along the street that passes right by it, heading toward 22nd. My dogs quite enjoyed the park. They even had obstacles staged around the perimeter of the circular area, to have fun with or train your doggies how to go through an obstacle course.
