Domaine Fortier Vineyards — Attraction in Lovettsville

We visited on a Sunday during a heatwave and I thought it was going to be too hot, but they did a really good job placing fans around their tent area and it actually felt really nice and cool under the canopy. I did their six wine tasting to get a feeling for their wines and overall I absolutely loved them. I am currently a member of the Bull run vineyard wine club but switched it over to this club today. They let us know that there is zero residual sugar in their wine so I was expecting a flat dry wine; however their petit manseng was very well balanced with a nice "sweetness" to it. Their Cabernet Franc Reserve was my favorite. They served it slightly chilled due to the heat and it was delicious. Can't wait to try it at room temp to bring the out the flavors even more.

A delightful new addition to the northern Virginia wine scene. We did a tasting of white and red wines and got a good feel for what they have on offer. I really appreciate that they add no sugar to their wines and they are all dry! The tasting room/tent is on a hill so a nice breeze goes through the tent even on warmer days.
