I usually avoid this bridge since it now requires a toll. Forgot to exit the highway before it one night and realized it was too late. There are no booths, so if you don't have ez pass you have to pay it online. (They take a photo of the license plate.) The catch is you pay more, and you have to wait at least 30 days until they mail you a receipt with an invoice number just so you can call or go online to pay. Don't wait too long though, because then you get a fine. Have spoken to others who never received an invoice, so I tried to be proactive and call. Good luck with that. One automated customer service number just leads to another, sending you into a circle of frustration dealing with multiple agencies. I have now spent about 6 hours trying to get someone to take my $2.60. What a waste. (Update: was triple charged when I was finally able to pay the lousy toll. It's "Toll By Plate" where they take a picture of your license plate and mail you a $3 ticket. unless you're driving a car with an EZ PASS electronic tag, you'll be charged half of that, only $1.50. Just make sure the license plate is in your EZ PASS profile. In case you're driving a rental car, add the license plate of the rental car to your profile in order for your tag/account to be charged, otherwise, you'll be charged triple, yes, $1.50 on the EZ PASS tag and $3 on the license plate that will be added to your rental charge plus collecting fees (depending on the rental contract). Make sure to remove the rental car license plate number from your profile, or you'll be charged every time that car passes even if the EZ PASS tag is not in the car and/or you're not driving that rental anymore.
