I only recently started coming back to Ringing Rocks after years of not skating or skating elsewhere. I used to be here every Friday through my teen years and the place is just about the same it was back then.
When I heard about the new management/ownership I wasn't sure if it would be the same but it really is. It's in fact better. You can tell that the new owners really and truly care for the rink as if it's their home. I have never seen the skate house look more well maintained, the bathrooms are clean and amazingly orderly.
All interactions I have had with the staff and owners has been outstanding. Imagine a rink run by the fun Aunt or Uncle. By entering those doors you are treated like family and friends. As long as you respect the rink and the staff you can expect to have a fantastic time.
Does it get busy on an open skate night, oh yeah it does! If it didn't I'd be worried, but definitely buy your tickets ahead if you are intending to go skate. I did so and when I arrived there was a sign on the door stating that they had sold out. I talked with the staff and showed them my tickets I had bought. They let me in no problem and my partner and I had a fantastic night of skating.
Due to their capacity limits it made the rink feel full but not overwhelmingly full. It was easy to skate around other slower skaters and I didn't feel like I was needing to fight through a crowd.
The floor is in need of a rehab but they are aware of this and actively doing all they can to maintain and fix it. Be aware of that when you are there with smaller/newer skaters. My kiddo is just learning how to skate and I try to stay with them at the points where the floor is a...
Read moreThis was our first time at the rink- I loved the old school vibes, the music, and the lighting, but the rest of the experience we had here tonight was absolutely horrible. We went to the skate rental to ask if we could trade one of the girl's skates in for a different pair just as the woman running it was sent off to the concession room only to be replaced by a bunch of rude KIDS under the age of 10. Instead of switching the skates like we asked and they said they could do, they tried giving us the wrong kids shoes and then gave us our kids shoes instead of the skates before saying 'YOU'RE WELCOME' in a snide tone. When we repeated that we were trying to switch the skates for different ones- the little girl rolled her eyes, threw up her hands just and walked away. When we tried to leave a few minutes later, a bunch kids kept pushing past us to get in and out of the skate rental- one of them rolled over my five year old daughter's toes (which are now bruised) while I was trying to get her skates off and another shoved my friend down to get past her. I had to track down the ADULT woman who had been working behind the skate rental so that we, and the long line of people who were trying to get their things, could finally get our shoes and leave. I didn't catch her name (lovely young woman with the long straight pony tail), but she very sweet and apologized for the kid's behavior. As we were walking out, the little boy that was behind the counter followed us all the way to the door obnoxiously yelling, "YOU'RE WELCOME" and "GOODBYE" over and over at us until the...
Read moreI grew up having the time of my life at this skating rink. It is amazing how things haven't changed.....with the building. Today brought back a lot of childhood memories, but there will sadly be no more memories for our family. My family will NOT return to ringing rocks skating rink again. The disrespectful staff tonight ruined our experience!! From the moment we arrived to the very second we left, the experience was awful! From curse words in the music (for a bunch of children and families skating), to the workers stealing candy and money from the snack bar, to workers dancing on the wooden shelf areas....this place was a hot mess. The night was topped off by one of the young workers (with pink hair) being downright nasty and rude to over 20 people (kids included since it was a little girls birthday). Way to ruin something so special!! Without our business tonight, the rink would have been very quiet. You're welcome for bringing you business! Next time, we will take our business elsewhere to enjoy a favorite pastime!! #badbusiness #neveragain...
