The farm is such an awesome park. It's really a hidden gem right in our own backyard yard. Size wise it's not very large, you can walk the walking path in 20-30 min at a slow pace... and the back trails in 15-40 min depending on which direction you go. I get lost in the woods for 2 hours sometimes just wondering around taking pictures. Its beautiful.
Minor up hills for a short distance, so keep in mind if that's an issue for walking, otherwise, it's fairly level! Good views and educational billboards on the history of the park. Also great for deer watching in the winter and fall. I have been just a few feet from a grazing deer and it was so awesome to be that close. please do not touch or feed them!!! I see a lot of kids and folks trying to pet them and throw bread at them. I do see apples and carrots in the field so someone's leaving them treats but definitely wouldn't suggest HAND feeding the creatures!
My favorite it the trail in the woods. If youre looking to start hiking this is a GREAT starter trail. You really can't get lost... you'll either end up in someone's back yard or back to the parking lot. There are various trails and different levels of difficulty. I walk in converse so I can attest its very rocky in some areas. If you take the long trail you do have to step over wet stones so always be careful when crossing it can be slippery. Ive been walking the trails for the last few years and haven't seen much wild life past the squirrels and birds - probably because there's no grassy areas so don't expect to see deer in that area.
This is great for kids to learn about hiking and practice for longer hikes (like across at the OTHER playwicki park that has a longer trail)
It's very safe. Clean. And the paths are decently designated.
If you are inexperienced, consider using walking sticks as some areas can be up hills or with branches covering the walk ways on SOME trails. The VERY last stretch out of the wood trails leads to the opening of the parking lot but it's VERY steep! I walk it multiple times a week and dread the last steps out every time! :)
Big parking lot, small playground for toddler and older kids. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN BATHROOMS. Shockingly clean for a park! A+++
Take pictures. It's...
Read moreUpon entering the farm you are greeted with nostalgic farm equipment. For me personally this was simply incredible. I was friends with the daughter of the family who lived on and farmed this property. I was so happy to see the farmhouse has been beautifully maintained. The barn is no more than remnants now. I told my husband and son stories of riding horses throughout the farm and summers filled with baling hay and planting crops. We immediately took the oath to the quarry and the wooded trails. The views are stunning and the trails well maintained and fun to hike. These trails eventually drop you off to large grassy pathways. The views are perfect for nature lovers and taking pictures. We saw a snake, a deer and a lot of birds. We did not walk the paved pathways at the front of the farm as we prefer to be off the beaten path. We were there early morning so it was not crowded however I have heard it does later in the day. I have never attended any of the events held either so I am not able to speak to them. If you are looking for a quick and moderate hike this...
Read moreI have been coming here for about 10 years, since my son was a baby. Really beautiful, quiet park. There is a playground, trails (paved and unpaved trails in the woods), bathrooms, and a water fountain with a special one for your pups. Went today for the first time in awhile with my son and dog and had a blast. Went back to the bridge that goes over a little creek and of course my fur baby had to go in the water. It's usually not too busy, but I know once in a while they have events here, the latest one was a food truck event. I didn't attend but it's nice to bring the community together. They also have two little free libraries here, one by the playground and one by the parking lot. It's really nice, clean and well taken care of park. Great to take a walk with your dog, or ride your bikes. There is lots of wild life from birds to deer. Years ago, I was able to feed a deer there! Something I will never forget! Definitely recommend...
