Like an Imax on steroids, there are some spots here offering a vista of over 180 degrees. This park took my breath away. Most parks with a view have an observation spot where you look out and then walk away. At Samuel S Lewis you can picnic, play lawn games, or fly a kite for hours and admire the awe inspiring view from the open field. A bonus is a picnic pavilion that is located to take advantage of the fields and the view. In a different section of the park, you can picnic or play baseball by a rock field which kids love to climb (see picture). The hilltop trail in this area does a loop around to the open field. It is a nice wide trail through scenic woods (picture). Check the park schedule for occasional stargazing programs. The park also features disc golf and a playground. There is no hunting at Samuel Lewis and only one parking area is open in winter near the main views. For events at this park visit: events dcnr pa For more information: pa parks and...

The view is amazing! Love the various rock formations throughout the park, which is great for kids and to drive your toy trucks on.. The trails are not easily located and they seemed to be rocks and gravel. This park has many areas for picnics and an open space perfect for flying kites and I saw a couple. The restroom is very small and it's not a flushable one... just a big hole with a toilet seat. I guess it is expected in the mountains? People at this park are very friendly. I think I might be the only nonwhite person here. They didn't treat me differently. I wish the trails were easier to locate. I still had fun walking around, exploring this park...

A large park with lots of places for hanging out, climbing rocks, and sitting at benches/tables. There is a 9 hole disc golf course that is a fun hour long play. There is a fantastic view of the sunrise over the susquehanna and the sunset over the mountains in the opposite direction. The park is right above Eastern High School. I have many good memories over the years at this park, from friends birthday parties, to playing disc golf and soccer, and planning dates with my girlfriends. There are community focused events that...
