I recently had the privilege of visiting Panther Ridge Conservation Center, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations! From the moment I stepped onto the premises, it was evident that the staff's dedication to the welfare of the big cats was unparalleled.
The care and attention given to each magnificent creature were truly heartwarming. It's clear that every staff member is deeply passionate about their work and the animals they care for. The enclosures are spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed to meet the specific needs of each resident.
Moreover, the educational component of the visit was enlightening. The staff provided comprehensive information about the conservation efforts being undertaken and the challenges facing big cat populations worldwide. It was inspiring to see firsthand the commitment to preserving these majestic animals for future generations.
I left Panther Ridge Conservation Center with a profound appreciation for the incredible work being done there. If you're looking for a meaningful and unforgettable experience while supporting a worthy cause, I highly recommend a visit to Panther Ridge. It's a gem of a sanctuary where the welfare of the animals truly comes first. Kudos to the entire team for their dedication...
Read moreI just recently heard about this place and decided to check it out the guided tour this morning. I was impressed at how clean and well designed the facility was. The cats all looked very happy, healthy and very well cared for. My tour guide, Aurora, was very knowledgeable about each one of the cats. She told me all about their natural habitats and range, diets, characteristics and special abilities. She knew all their names and their history which was heartbreaking to hear about in some cases but also eye opening at the same time.
I especially loved watching the fishing cats swimming after treats in the water. I learned that clouded leopards make a really interesting noise that isnt quite purring but isnt roaring either. (Apparently cats that purr cant roar and vice versa, thanks Aurora). The cheetahs were fun to watch playing and chasing after each other.
The layout of the enclosures was great. It wasn't a lot of walking like some places require. The enclosures allow for excellent viewing and allow you to feel like you are very close to the cats but also far enough away to be safe. Great for kids or adults of any age. I highly recommend this place for a Sunday Funday...
Read morePanther Ridge is what you'd expect to see and hope for in a wild cat sanctuary. The grounds are well cared for. Each of the 17 cats (although some are siblings and live together) have their own enclosure filled with clean bedding, large wooden structures for sunbathing and perching, enrichment items, pools for cooling down, sleeping dens and more. The love and care that director Judy Berens is evident when you look at these beautiful wild exotci cats. Unlike zoos, the cats here show no signs of stress. Although some have had precious incidents prior to coming to this gorgeous location Judy has an undeniable bond filled with respect and adoration for them. I was humbled when being so close to them! And yes you're less than a foot away at times! We were blessed when seeing the the many clouded leopards out and about during our tour as they are primarily nocturnal. Wonderful experience! Each cat has its own personality and Judy's bond with them is amazing. If you're here don't skip out on this once in a lifetime experience. The conservation center is dedicated to the care and well being of these cats so know that the money you spend to see them is put...
