Pleasant walking trails of various lengths, short boardwalk for young and old with descriptions of plant life, short and easy path around the lake. Far off views of prairie dogs on the longer gravel and dirt path. No shelter areas on the longer walk. Be prepared for windy conditions.

The museum is small, showcasing extinct animal bones and ancient flint points. Large interesting dioramas and text on waves of migrating people who may have exterminated their predecessors or assimilated with them.

Dating method of B.P. beginning in 1950 and also beginning at some other unspecified time (?) were somewhat confusing on a few exhibits. As was the vague implication that calendars are a recent invention. Various methods of calculating time have been around for a very long time. The exhibits would be more interesting using different types...

Lucchese and Jordan did a fantastic job leading our school group throughout the trail and museum. We had a large group of 29 children and they handled the group with ease. The museum portion of the facility provided detailed information about the history of the Clovis paleoindians, prehistoric animals, and the excavation process of the landmark. The recreations of moments in time featuring The Clovis people, the Apache, and the Comanche Indians and the 3D printed megafauna bone manipulatives were favorites among our K through 5th grade summer camp group. We were even lucky enough to witness some archaeologists in action during our nature hike! Thank you, Lubbock Lake Landmark staff, for making our field trip fun and...

Very rude, (Susan) is there no ethics in the way people speak to one another. Because if so, leave now, to a wonderful family smiling and enjoying the day. Was no where near ethics on how to approach anyone. What happened to treat others the way you would like to be treated? Would I recommend anyone to visit or even explore this so called establishment? No if the way people there continues to treat, and talk to visitors so rude... I suggest all members, volunteers, and staff go through some sort of ethic training on how to approach and how to speak to tourist and those visiting their establishment. This Family deserves an apology for sure for the way they...

I had a lot of fun here! I just did the two shorter trails, the archaeology and wildflower trails, and it wasn't strenuous and it was easy to navigate. The archaeology trail was informative, interesting, and beautiful. I saw some turtles and ducks down in the marshy/pond areas, kids would probably love it! The interpretive center museum was extremely helpful in placing the site within context and describing the natural and cultural history and the geology of the area. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly!

This is one of the few pockets of nature in Lubbock in which you can feel a sense of the landscape's history and beauty. Their trails are just serene and lovely and undisturbed which is rare in a region where agriculture & ranching dominate. We have seen many snakes, tarantulas, hawks & owls. The facilities and exhibits are equally enjoyable. Their staff is very knowledgeable about the history of the people, landscape and animals that once was and shares their knowledge respectfully and kindly.
