Pleasant walking trails of various lengths, short boardwalk for young and old with descriptions of plant life, short and easy path around the lake. Far off views of prairie dogs on the longer gravel and dirt path. No shelter areas on the longer walk. Be prepared for windy conditions.
The museum is small, showcasing extinct animal bones and ancient flint points. Large interesting dioramas and text on waves of migrating people who may have exterminated their predecessors or assimilated with them.

Read moreLucchese and Jordan did a fantastic job leading our school group throughout the trail and museum. We had a large group of 29 children and they handled the group with ease. The museum portion of the facility provided detailed information about the history of the Clovis paleoindians, prehistoric animals, and the excavation process of the landmark. The recreations of moments in time featuring The Clovis people, the Apache, and the Comanche Indians and the 3D printed megafauna bone manipulatives were favorites among our K through 5th grade summer camp group.
