Came here for my nephew's birthday party. It was almost a 2 hour drive, but it's a cute little museum with some interesting history to learn from it. I bought some postcards, stickers, a fridge magnet and a t-shirt.
There are pamphlets for scavenger hunts, sketching, etc, and plenty of activities for young children to enjoy as well. I love that they offer educational opportunities for children, families, and individuals. It's really interesting reading about forestry in East Texas and seeing all the pictures. This museum is free to visit, all they ask for is donations if you have them. I usually donate a couple dollars whenever I go. There's a little trail you can walk around on in the back, with markers showing you which tree is which, and you can even get in the old steam engine!
