Spent the day at the Texas Forestry Museum with my daughter and it was such a fun (and FREE) adventure! 🥰🌲 🎟️ Free admission for all visitors 🕵🏽‍♀️ Scavenger hunts with prizes for kids of all ages 🌳 Indoor & outdoor exhibits — perfect for toddlers and older kids 🚂 Outdoor section with real trains, a walking trail, and a fun play area 📍Located in East Texas — a must-visit if you’re nearby! Perfect mix of learning, exploring, and playtime. We’ll definitely be going back! #TexasForestryMuseum #EastTexasFamilyFun #FreeThingsToDoInTexas #ToddlerAdventures #MuseumDay #MomLifeVibes #FamilyFunOnABudget #TexasMoms #ThingsToDoWithKids #ScavengerHuntFun #OutdoorPlaytime #EastTexasActivities #RaisingExplorers

Came here for my nephew's birthday party. It was almost a 2 hour drive, but it's a cute little museum with some interesting history to learn from it. I bought some postcards, stickers, a fridge magnet and a t-shirt. There are pamphlets for scavenger hunts, sketching, etc, and plenty of activities for young children to enjoy as well. There is a play room where kids can make names or pictures with wooden pegs, make poems on a magnetic board, dress up like a fireman, or dress up in vintage clothing and play house. I would absolutely recommend bringing your children here, and checking out the gift shop too.

Really interesting smallish museum which we visited on our recent trip down to Houston. Some exhibits inside which talk through the history and jobs involved in the forestry business with old.ohitos and equipment from the past. There is also good reference to the inequality in pay and jobs available for Women and people of colour in the early years and the segregation. Outside there is a steam train showing what would have been used and some additional equipment from the past.

I absolutely love the Texas Forestry Museum! Not only do you get a thorough history of the area's industrious lumber history, but also the beautiful wildlife and state forests. I love that they offer educational opportunities for children, families, and individuals. Plus, the museum layout is absolutely gorgeous and there are always fun programming activities going on to keep everyone engaged. Last but not least, there's a wonderful trail as well as plenty of outdoor activities available to enjoy. This is an amazing place to explore and everyone...

What a neat little place! This is definitely a fun way to spend an afternoon, whether it be with kids or adults. It's really interesting reading about forestry in East Texas and seeing all the pictures. This museum is free to visit, all they ask for is donations if you have them. I usually donate a couple dollars whenever I go. There's a little trail you can walk around on in the back, with markers showing you which tree is which, and you can even get in the old steam engine! I'd recommend this if you're looking for an interesting, free thing to...
