Lykens Glen Park — Attraction in Lykens

I've been coming back here since I was just little. It's a great spot to fish (may be crowded in some areas) there's a little park with swings and stuff,a baseball field, the main area has pavilions in a few lots which all sit right close to the creek. If you continue along the road there are various spots to pull over and you can walk to the creek. It's nice to just sit and relax by the water as well. You can also swim in some if the spots. Be warned: the water is ALWAYS quite cold,but feels amazing on those crazy hot days. This is one of my favorite places in the area. Major points for the beautiful, accessible creek, which is full of rocks and would be fun for kids to play in. But for the only park in this very remote area, it should have a more considerable playground. The ball field is very nice, and there’s a wonderful, large, clean pavilion. Picnic tables scattered around, plenty of shade. Bathrooms are port-a-potties. But there is variety missing, especially for those wanting to take a walk or play on...

I was here in the summer of 2024...I noticed many safety hazards even under the grass... There was some type of netting that could literally take a toe off if you got caught in it... I noticed lots of vandalism to what used to be there... I noticed children's pajamas in a trashcan... And I noticed child predators keeping a close eye and making comments about a really sweet child that was trying to enjoy the simple beauty and nature...
