We took a school group there for pioneer days and were treated very rudely and disrespectfully by the woman in charge of our field trip. The people who were at the stations were kind. The price per student for the field trip is not cost effective for the interaction and we are wondering if we will be returning. This would mean 132 students could possibly find another place to take their field trip. We need more hands on activities rather than sit and listen. We need kinder treatment towards our teachers and parent volunteers. Better bathroom accommodations as well. It is not set up for that many people and girls waited 30 minutes just to use...

Went for Pioneer Days (Sept 7 and 8) admission for adults $8, tours available of the grounds and victorian mansion. Many houses and barns depicting life 1800 to early 1920's general store, blacksmith, etc had docents this weekend explaining the times, had small cafe open with soups, pies, sandwiches, sides and soft beverages. Soup was excellent as were pies $2.50 each, sandwiches just a little more. We spent 2.5 hours with a lunch break, they had reenactors, craft vendors such as broom, jams , soaps and jams also gift shoppe. Enjoyed afternoon, have paved sidewalks but steps are involved from 1 to staircase in victorian home. Well...

We enjoy visiting tourists attractions like this. This place was extremely disappointing. Should have known before we even paid when the woman didn't know how to process a credit card payment for the admission. This would be better as a self paced tour because the guide we had was a high school student that carried the binder full of information but knew nothing about everything. When we got to the school house another student guide joined us and the two guides played with the items in the school like it waa their first visit. Don't ask about John Wright and his mansion cause she was clueless. Wasn't worth the price...

The tour guide is very knowledgeable and interesting. He presented a lot of detail and took extra time in answering questions and explaining everything pertaining to the village. We really enjoyed our 4th of July visit!

A great piece of Ohio history. The connection to the Underground railroad was interesting.
