While visiting NH, I was lucky to experience a February snowfall of 8” and went to the Dartmouth Skiway the next day. After doing Stowe and Smuggler’s Notch last year, my intent was to see NH’s ski offerings. I was staying only 10 miles from the DS and thought I’d use it “knock the rust off” as my first skiing of the Season. I thought it’d be so small that I’d quickly grow bored. Instead I was pleasantly surprised by its variety of runs and uncrowded lifts. I will come back. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and the overall cost compared to Stowe or Bretton Woods was 1/3.

So we tried this place after seeing it in N.H. chronicle. We are big fans of college students running ski patrol after four years of rolling dirty at RIT Ambulance in Rochester NY. small, but everyone is really nice and the mountain is fun and challenging at the same time. Cell phone didn’t work (First Net and Verizon) at the lodge but did work in the air. It’s a niche place but worth the visit. And we can’t say enough about the ski patrol. Also-they support veterans by running a disabled veteran ski program. Pizza truck outside is awesome.

We discovered Dartmouth Skiway through IndyPass, based on a last minute change of plans due to wind holds elsewhere in the region. The snow was great (Feb 2025), and there was a nice variety of on / off piste terrain. The staff was friendly, the facilities are really nice, and the lift ticket / season price passes prices are shockingly low. (wish I lived closer) I also love the history. Thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely on my "to ski again" list.

Attended a well run race on a perfect day this weekend...

However, I was pretty shocked at how grumpy the people working there were. There was the guy with a badge named Pete yelling at us as we unloaded our car. Like actually yelling "Move it along!". We have 4 kids, it takes a minute to unload! It's not like I had parked the car...Being yelled at by some dude just sort of cut into the fun. We park, after being waved to a spot by yet another grumpy guy, then I go in to buy the tickets for me and my kids. The kids are upstairs in the lodge bedlum, and the lady would not sell me a ticket without seeing my kids (!). Has anyone ever heard of this sort of thing anywhere else? Lastly, I was sitting at the bottom of the chairlift, and some kids leave their poles off to the side and hop on the chair. Some bearded dude from the lift walks over, clearly angry (at God knows what), grabs the poles and just chucks them (!) I have never seen anything like it. When the kids skied down and could not find their poles, he comes back out and starts yelling at them in front of everyone "DON"T LEAVE YOUR POLES BY THE LIFT"! Apparently, this is a serious offense.

Anyway, it seems the place only employs angry men age 40-60. They are then clearly given the green light to be rude to patrons. It must be because it's owned by Dartmouth and they don't need to make money. However, I won't be going back, and I would strongly encourage others to go somewhere else, where they are nice and happy...

Had such a pleasant time here! Our group three tried snowboarding for the first time (with previous skiing and athletic experience) and just spent the day learning on the bunny hill. We didn’t secure a lesson in time, but there was a lot of space and options for us to learn on our own. A very family friendly area, great for learning and not crowded, and affordable! Also the staff is awesome and friendly!! Since we were brand new to snowboarding and this area, we didn’t end up using our lift ticket at all (just did the bunny hill all day) and the staff were super understandable and kind when we inquired about a refund for the lift ticket, and we really appreciated...

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Dartmouth Skiway! This hidden gem exceeded all our expectations. It's a quaint, not-overcrowded spot with an incredibly friendly atmosphere.

Booking everything online was seamless, and Joanne went above and beyond to accommodate our needs with reasonable adjustments on the fly. The staff members were exceptionally friendly, adding to the warmth of the experience.

Thanks to the phenomenal instructors: Joe, Skip, Molly, Gavin, Zay, and Zak. Each one not only excelled at teaching but also infused every lesson with excitement and fun.

A heartfelt thank you to Dartmouth Skiway for providing us with the...
