I came here to get to see the inside of a coal mine and it was very informative! You can tell a lot of work went into this tour. Nick was especially friendly and took great care of me. This is a helpful high level view of how important this industry was through our history, and how it has changed over time. I developed more respect for the people who worked these mines for nearly a hundred years and the struggles and challenges they overcame. Take the time to read the signs through the mine entrance as they give good context and information.

Took the family here today and it was simply amazing! Our guide was super knowledgeable and answered all of our questions! We felt this was important for our son to see. We have several family members who worked these mines.

Absolutely awesome tour. Nick was our guide don’t no how he remembered all the incredible information .Super friendly after tour also.. Mine is getting upgraded with animatronics and other stuff we will go back when thats up and going. If you wish to do a tour be patient he is a one man band . Be sure and Call and book your tour .we drove up and had to wait couple hours . But if He is on a tour nobody will be answering phone. Leave a message I witnessed him calling people back before and after our tour. I highly recommend if you have ever wondered how a coal mine operates check this place out. Its awesome. When done go to lamp house coffee shop across street and get a sandwich. Thats also were you can use bathroom . They have sandwiches and coffee and are very nice and have some books with pictures of the town as it was built. Very cool place to visit. Also if you get cold easy you will want to carry a jacket and pants. The mine is ventilated just like it was while being ing operation good...

In the heart of Lynch, Portal 31 offers the amazing adventure of being inside a mine and diving into the remarkable story of the miners who live in one of the world's most important coal communities in the twenty century. Unfortunately, Portal 31 is undergoing renovations, and it is not possible to ride in a car with authentic figures speaking. However, walking provided the trip with a different perspective and allowed to enjoy it more thoroughly. The $20 per person price may be a little pricey. Nonetheless, the experience is priceless. In addition, the employees, particularly the tour guide, are always friendly, make you feel welcome, and are willing to answer all of...
