Driving on US 36 and need a place to camp with a lake to boat, fish or take a swim or ride your wave runner or too ski, stop at Long branch Lake and campground at Macon Mo., conveniently located by a convenience store and gas station and just 1or 2 miles out of town. It has plenty of room for long RVs to get around and park. The entry road to the lake and campground is all blacktop. The lake area and boat ramps and parking lot is very spacious with restrooms and outside shower and fish cleaning station and marine bait and convenience store either ice an,bait and snacks . It has showers and regular toilets, vault toilets, very clean, it has a sewer dump and water fill and firewood hopper ( $5 per bundle ) at entrance has water at various location thru the camp ,has tent camping spots close to waters edge, regular electric hookups for 30 amp and 50 * 30 amp spots, some spots are gravel,, most spots are asphalt and concrete padded, host is there year round, very friendly older couple to help at office , I paid $17 per senior rate a nite. Plenty of shaded spots, some spots are very close to the lake and have mowed paths to walk to the lake if needed. Showers are still open till end of month. Even has free WIFI mounted high on posts thruout the campground with great reception. All sites are clean with fire rings, picnic tables and post for light.    Read moreWe reserved the family site F015. To have extra room since we had kids with us. The site itself is very large and it borders a field. The field has plenty of room to run and play badminton. The site pad is unlevel and has every bit of a 10 inch drop on the smaller pad. Be sure to bring levelers. (we noticed several sites were extremely unlevel. Closer to the bathhouse in the 30 amp) also on the smaller pad the weeds go all the way up to the fire pit, but since we had the secondary spot, it wasn’t a big deal for us. The larger pad does have asphalt down, but it has several areas that is badly damaged. Right outside the Rv door is anywhere from a 6 inch to a 4 inch drop. Which is a fall hazard with children. Overall, we would recommend the sites just for the extra room. The bathrooms were nice and clean. The vault toilets were disgusting. Both of these sites have cigarette butts everywhere. It looks like several years worth or a heavy smoker. Stayed here for a long time. Swimming- the swimming area is not close to the campground at all. Although you can get to the lake easily from the campground, that spots is all mud and not accessible to swim. You would have to either drive or walk a long ways to...
