University of Oklahoma Biological Station — Attraction in Madill

I took 2 classes: animal behavior and comparison animal anatomy in summer 1973. I can’t remember the names of the 2 gentlemen professors who taught the classes. I was fascinated by scissortail flycatchers, so I studied them for a paper for the behavior class. One of the professors was hoping to find wolves in OK. So he took us out to at night to howl to record the wildlife responses. We only heard from coyotes—-but it was great fun! Thankfully no one was shot! I took my first college course here. Old but sturdy facilities. A limited but concentrated library. Nice selection of coursework available during the summertime. Really good set of labs for biological analyses. ...Just remember that if you wish to fish, you'll need a special permit for Lake Texoma. And if you only want to eat fish, there're plenty of places...
