Duck Lake Park is a great hangout place for families. There's a sizeable playground area, two picnic buildings, and open access to one of Minnesota's many fresh water lakes. There are modern restrooms with showers available to the public. The sand beach is well upkept with rentable toys and paddle boats available. The only downside is that there are a number of sticks and stones in the water to step on, and sometimes passing boat traffic makes some larger waves that are less than great for weak swimmers.
Pack a lunch and a cold beverage.. this is a good spot to come for some healthy summer fun.

Read moreGreat park area, they have a small playground, non-motorized boats for rent ($6/hr in 2017), and a medium sized (75ppl approx) covered picnic shelter you can rent ($30/day in 2017). The beach area is nice and maintained, and there are additional picnic tables and iron grills throughout the area. The one caution- watch out in early spring during migration as there seem to be a large number of geese and ducks that flock here, so there's lots of "goose grease." Read moreDuck Lake Park is a wonderful beach and picnic area. The water is shallow and only 3-4 feet deep as far as 50 yards out, so it's great for little kids. The bottom is sand and the water is much cleaner than Madison Lake. It also has numerous picnic tables with lovely shade trees, and tons of green space to frolick and play.
