This farm is a great place to take the kids on a warm spring or summer day. Provides them the opportunity to see a historical working farm and gets them outside enjoying nature as well. Many opportunities for pictures with animals and just in general. The staff is always friendly and able to provide insight on how things were once done on the family farms that are quickly disappearing.

We took a chance and went on a dreary day and brought our infant. We appreciated the fact that it was free so we thought we wouldn’t be out any money if it started raining. We had a great time. Our little one enjoyed watching the animals and got a kick out of seeing the pigs getting fed. We got to meet other families with little ones and the staff were so friendly.

This was our first time, and we really enjoyed our visit! Some things weren't open (house and kitchen), but I'm not sure if it was due to Covid or seasonal reasons. They had a spring scavenger hunt, an obstacle course, and so much to see on the farm! We will definitely be back! Our niece lived the animals!

Nice big metro park at Canal Winchester, it is like 10 miles from the main Canal Winchester.

There is a bunch of picnic areas and few playgrounds.

The children playground at buzzard roost is recently updated for older kids, there is lake near by, trails for people to walk. There are bathrooms by the playgrounds and the farm. The bathroom are old school but nice and clean for the most part.

There is also a living farm with cows, horses, pigs, chicken, turkey etc. You can go inside the house and find people wearing colonial outfit and doing ancient things.

They also have a lot of event down there for families.

The visitor group visiting the park is not diverse at all.

Overall a 5 star experience that...

The Slate Run Living Historical Farm is a fun and educational visit. Wear old shoes or boots because it can be wet in places. You'll see several different farm animals but there is no feeding or petting area like a Zoo. The people living there will likely be doing chores. There's plenty of parking and the rest of the park to hike around, have a picnic, or let kids play at the playground.

Groveport, Canal Winchester, and Lithopolis are about 10 minutes from Slate Run for food and...

It's a great place to take the kids. It is a true working farm so they have all the tools from the era. The animals are friendly and handle children well. They vary the demonstrations with the seasons so there's always different things to see. They do full butchering if that bothers you but they give ample warning before that part so you can turn away or go elsewhere if that would bother you. All in all, it's a great place to spend a couple hours and let the kids run and tire...
