A great place to take your children and grandchildren and teach them the heritage of coal and the county. Anybody related to the coal mining industry in the state of West Virginia or wherever will enjoy this display/museum. Clean and organized they even have a replica of mining equipment that was used years ago. Anywhere from antique equipment to fossils to modern day technology. I would recommend taking anyone there to gain more knowledge of the coal mining industry and its past. Very family-friendly atmosphere and very clean facility.    Read moreI looked up the hours on their web site. Under the heading "NEW HOURS" it said they were open Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 12:00 - 5:00. It was a Monday so I thought, great, I can go check it out. So I drove 45 minutes from Charleston, WV only to find a sign on the door with the hours given as Tuesday to Saturday 1:00 - 5:00, closed Sunday and Monday.
