Fannin Oaks Golf Course & Event Center — Attraction in Madisonville

Course has a ton of potential. It has a great layout and great sized greens. That being said it needs a ton of work. Not a single fairway on this course it’s almost 100 percent rough. Like seriously it’s as simple as cutting grass. Every single bunker does not have a single grain of sand like if you can’t put sand in the bunkers for some reason just get rid of them it’s pointless. Over 60 percent of the tee boxes are more than half dirt and the cart path makes you need to see a chiropractor after driving down them. The fairways has tree stumps in the middle and fallen trees in the edges how hard is it to remove stumps and cut up trees. The greens are really nice except the par 3 in the very back of the course I’ve seen a desert have better grass than that. Please do some up keep on this course because it has so much potential but the green fees are too high for what you get. I will give this course a try in another 6 months and see if it’s any better...

Decorated the place as it was rented for a formal, Paul and his wife are very nice and helpful. The problem I had was after the event the man that was supposed to stay and wait for me to come clean up as I was driving 2 hours to get there didn't wait....instead he locked the gate and didn't bother to tell me. Then as i understand it they didn't want to give the deposit back because everything was not cleaned up before the next day, which wasn't our fault. Taylor was very sweet. Our tee time got double booked and she did a great job of accommodating us. Like others have said the course really needs some TLC. We would have trouble finding balls in the fair way because the grass was so tall. It seemed like Taylor was the only one working. Lots of downed trees right next to the greens.
