I very rarely give negative reviews, but after speaking with the owner about his dating problems with his milk, and his lack of concern over the issue, I decided to write this review. I purchase their milk at the Fareway Store on Grand Ave in West Des Moines. Unfortunately, the chocolate milk sours a week before the sell by date on the sticker on the cartons. I love the taste when fresh, but they add so much sugar, I don't recommend it. AE and Hiland all last to their sell by dates in my fridge with no problem, but Picket Fence starts to stink a week before the sell by date so I end up pouring over half the container down the drain; what a terrible waste of time and money. I've tried buying the chocolate milk over 30 times and I had to pour it out before we finished it probably 25 of those times. I keep their milk in the bottom right back corner of the fridge, the coldest spot, but it sours when everything else in the fridge is fine. I will never waste my money on their chocolate or strawberry milk again. This is Gatordog's 1-Star Look. This is what the Strawberry milk looks like 2-WEEKS BEFORE the expiration date. On a lighter note, Neva's Cheese Ball lasts just fine in our fridge and is enjoyed by our family.

Decide to adventure out to Picket Fence Creamery after seeing so many reviews and ads. It is a journey and you have to want to go there as it is off the beaten path, but we'll worth the trip. We splurged and got a Strawberry Rhubarb Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream. We also bought enough ice cream as there was a buy 4 get one pint free. You can hopefully see the different flavors in the pictures. We also got some beef sticks, eggs and a bottle of wine made in Iowa. This is a neat little shop and a small business farm. It is well worth the trip. We haven't tried the items yet but will update after we do.

This place is so worth visiting! They do sell Picket Fence Creamery products at the local grocery store, but you should really come out and meet the family that makes these delicious dairy treasures.

This is LIFE-CHANGING icecream. One night, my wife and I were in a local hyvee, and wanted a little treat for the night. We decided on icecream. After a short stroll through the freezer section, we determined a container of namebrand vanilla icecream was a solid bet. Upon grabbing a quarter and walking away, the Picket Fence Creamery quart caught my eye. It was as if someone from a past life was calling me. I didn't know why I was attracted to it, but I was consumed immediately with temptation. I removed it from the cooler and made the decision to place the other quart back. Upon getting home, I cracked it open and served up myself and my wife. I took a bite. It was instant euphoria. I slowly consumed the rest of my serving to savory it intensely. 20 min had past since I finished it when I started to experience a pulsing sensation through my body. It felt incredible. It was like a wave of serotonin and endorphins were washing over me. It was cleansing me. I woke up the next morning a new man. I've been eating Picket Fence Creamery icecream everyday since. I'm not addicted, but I just need it to feel normal, or even just good at all. Picket Fence Creamery changed my life. I would recommend...
