Four women who were walking along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu died when a speeding driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed Tuesday night, authorities said. The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 21500 block of the PCH, near La Costa Beach and east of the Malibu Pier. A total of four vehicles were involved in the incident. Beautiful beach, super clean water there's plenty of street parking. Super private area. The bad thing is this horrible house owner who thin they own the beach. This old witch was Harassing evert single person at the beach, like she was the police taking pictures and asking them to leave, I noticed most of the owners are karens, such of unhappy people, I'm sorry for them because the beach is public and we the people have the right to enjoy the area for free too bad that they have to spend millions of dollars to have a property there and on top of that be unhappy Ps I will be updating the karens from this area

Breathtaking ocean views. The water was not overrun by seaweed. Very laid back. It’s free of restaurants, hotels and anything that can obstruct the view and the peace. 🏄🏽‍♀️🧘🏽‍♀️ "Carbon-La Costa Beach Access is one of the newest Malibu public beach accesses. It gives the public access to La Costa Beach between Carbon Canyon Road and Las Flores Canyon Road. This access came about by the removal of a fence that was constructed on California state property without a permit."

From the street it looks inviting but here are the problems and why I’d recommend going to pretty much any of the other beaches which are far better for a visit:

No parking. There’s VERY limited street parking because of all the adjacent driveways into people’s private beach houses. If you park on the other side of the street and try to run across, you’re asking to die. Not very safe.

No easy access. You have to climb on top of large, slippery boulders just to eventually make it onto the beach. This is NOT a beach that’s designed for people to visit unless they live there. Walk or drive few hundred yards past it (west) where Carbon Beach has nice paved entry points. I saw an older woman and a small child fall on the rocks. And then coming back, the tide was covering the rocks forcing people to swim in their clothes and then crawl over the huge slippery boulders.

No bathrooms. You have NOWHERE but the ocean to go and that’s disgusting and illegal. There are rangers there a lot to police it.

No trash cans. Let’s say you could hold it in. Where are you dumping your trash? Again, this was NOT designed for visitors to use.

Very high tides. Sometimes there’s no dry sand to use. And if you go under the beach houses or onto their private sand, the sheriff shows up in minutes or at the very least you get yelled at.

Nothing to buy. Hungry? Thirsty? There’s literally NOTHING walkable. It’s ALL private homes and a private club there with nothing for sale. The other beaches, particularly the one about a mile up from there by the pier, have far more.

NO lifeguards: again, This is a residential beach with all private homes. There are NO lifeguards (probably because there are no bathrooms for them!), which makes it pretty dangerous. Why go here when other beaches in Malibu DO have lifeguards??See #8 below.

Powerful rip currents: the currents at this beach are deceptively powerful. I saw a little girl get dragged out after simply dipping her feet in the water and her dad had to jump in after her in his clothes. Even with “small” waves, the current is very strong and can pull you straight out rather quickly. And with no lifeguards, good luck!

Impossible to access carbon Beach: carbon beach (“Billionaire’s Beach”) is next door but unless it’s VERY low tide (hard to imagine) it’s impossible to make it to that beach unless you are a damn good swimmer or have a boat. Better to park at one of the several Carbon Beach access points (they have signs) and easily walk in without risking your life. The houses there are way nicer than the (often crumbling, older) ones at La Costa, many of which look like older vacation homes or AirBnBs. Carbon Beach has all of Larry Ellison’s 13+ houses and what used to be Eli Broad’s gorgeous white mega compound.

There are a dozen much easier-to-access beaches nearby that have bathrooms and toilets and parking and don’t require you to be an expert rock climber or swimmer to get...
